I am a senior scientist/engineer in the solar energy field.  I received my PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001.  I work specifically with solar concentrators using holographic optical techniques.

Sounds interesting (:.
As expensive as solar power is, using it will considerably decrease air pollution, and in some cases water pollution.
Perhaps in the future economies will give it a second thought, in some cases using non-renewable sources proves cheaper, although it harms the environment.

Solar power is not expensive anymore. And we can't assume that overusing our atmosphere is free. There is no free lunch.

If there's someone who doesn't know, a solar panel (also solar module, photovoltaic module or photovoltaic panel) is a packaged, connected assembly of photovoltaic cells. The solar panel can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications. Each panel is rated by its DC output power under standard test conditions, and typically ranges from 100 to 320 watts. The efficiency of a panel determines the area of a panel given the same rated output - an 8% efficient 230 watt panel will have twice the area of a 16% efficient 230 watt panel. Because a single solar panel can produce only a limited amount of power, most installations contain multiple panels. A photovoltaic system typically includes an array of solar panels, an inverter, and sometimes a battery and or solar tracker and interconnection wiring.

I agree that solar energy isnt expensive anymore. Especially in the Middle East, as there is a great potential for clean energy. The Desertec initiative proves it. http://www.siemens.ae/energy-efficiency/renewable-energy.html - By 2030 renewable energy will be responsible for meeting 13 percent of world energy demands.

http://www.siemens.ae/energy-efficiency/renewable-energy.html - It is rarely mentioned that besides generating clean energy, energy efficient transmission is very important. Such as high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission and distribution via smart grids. An intelligent grid is going to be implemented in the Masdar project.

every house and building in the world should have solar panels Big%20smile
but the power companies won't make much money and that is what is comes down to.

want to have solar on the house but the money is not there Cry

Utilizing solar power inside your business or home is a thing that will really benefit your financial budget with time. You'll also do the planet the following favor. You must review this post for a lot of useful tips on solar technology and the ways to lower your expenses due to renewable energies.

Are the energy bills receiving a little out of control currently? It is time to exchange signal of solar energy should you be fed up with paying costly energy bills. Will ultimately end up saving you a ton of money ultimately, though it cost more upfront.

Determine if any local energy provider offers meter rollback programs. Once you have a solar energy system, you should consider joining one of http://www.gemenergy.com.au/phono-solar-panels/ - these simple programs so you can sell the force you have produced for the main grid and draw the equal energy instead of purchasing a pricey battery system to save your power.

Solar-power isn't costly . And now we can not presume that our air remains completely free. That isn't any completely free lunch.

Solar energy is no longer used by people who do not have access to electric power..
houses can now be fitted with solar panels/solar heater for showers and all the general
needs in a house that need extra electric watts ..

we see security lights using solar energy.. billboards on the roads..
solar energy is like the new thing.. its cheap does not require lots of maintenance
and it is environment friendly... i think  we should all embrace this..
