Bismillah,

One of us could give you the name and address of a mosque here that you could donate them to.  Would you like that?

Auzubillahi minash shaitan ir rajeem,

Bismillah ir rahman ir rahim,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullah,

A warm welcome to all new sisters on this forum, and on the webboard. I hope you all will find your stay worthwhile, make many new friends, and contribute to this little e-community.

There seems to be a dearth of topics related to day-to-day needs/interesets of sisters. Apart from core islamic issues, if one please to contribute topics of such nature, it can give a new meaning and shade to this forum, insha allah.

Maa salaama,

Nausheen

Assalamu Alaikum

Sister Ummsaleh, welcome aboard IC forum.  As you can see, many of us are rather new here, myself included.  I am also new to Islam and I am so excited that so many wonderful sister are here to learn from and share with.

I didn't know about the recipe thread.  I love to cook and I have many wonderful recipes to share.  I also love cooking many new things.  I think I might have to go pull that thread back to the top.

PAZ,

Khadija

Salam- Thank you sister Khadija, I am looking for simple recipes for the kids. I usually make middle eastern food or BBQ. Anything new would be helpful. Today my housekeeper/nanny asked me to do something different, it's kind of hard because she doesn't eat cheese / no milk products, my cook is stuck making the same food, what ever i teach her, so it's my job to bring in new recipes this week, we have loads of cookbooks, but i would like something tested/ tired recipes, thanks so much

salam alaykum

Bismillah,

Using substitutes for cow's milk can help.  Rice or soy are two that I know of.  Some people like tofu fried if they can't have cheese, but there are cheese substitutes as well.  Look on the internet for these, and order them.

Goat's milk should be avaiable in Saudi.  Can she have goat's milk?

My daughter is allergic to milk and has been drinking soymik and has been drinking goats milk since the age of 14 months when I stopped nursing. Mashalla it has really improved her health. You can also make almond milk at home if she is not allergic to tree nuts. You soak 1/2 cup of raw almonds in water overinght, you have to peel them and then blend them in the blender with water(one blender ful or about 2 liters is enough) You have to blend it  a while and probably stir it. Then strain and keep in the fridge. You can use it in most dishes that call for milk and it is great to drink with a little honey added. Almonds also contain calcium and magnesium good for bones!!
