It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah was engaged in ribat, and the people became alarmed. ٍSo, they went out to the seashore and it was said: "There's nothing to worry about." The people dispersed, and Abu Hurayrah remained there standing. Someone came by him and said: "Why are you still standing here, Aba Hurayrah?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) saying:

"Standing for one hour in the Path of Allah is better than praying at night on the Night of Qadr at the Black Stone.""

Long tome since anyone posted here! Maybe we should revive this thread?

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."

The sunnah mentions to the way the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) lived his life, his sayings and teachings. We learn this through the hadith which is a record of these sayings and teachings. Muslims try to implement the sunnah or ways of the prophet into our lives.
