Dear Sister Amah I know the first verse for Qitaal i.e fighting or armed struggle which is 22:39 Permission to fight is given to those......who have been wronged.... However, the first verse of Jihad is interesting. Some one told me it is 25:52 so obey not the disbelievers ... but strive against them with utmost endeaveour (Jihad an kabira) It was revealed in Mecca after the opposition to Prophet's message had started. This means that Prophet and his followers were engaged in Jihad before hijra even in Mecca. This is what I am trying to find.
