New Marriage No Financial Support

   As-salaam-walaykum,
It’s coming up to a year since I have completed my Nikah (Alhumdullilah).

I involuntarily contribute 50% for rent. 

I am saving for a mortgage. I contribute double for that on a monthly basis as I earn more. 

I am aware my husband cannot earn anymore from his current role. (He has tried to find a better job) (I earn more).

He cannot afford the rent without my aid. We cannot have baby’s until we get a mortgage which will take several years. 

I cannot be out of work even to have baby’s as he won’t be able to pay rent without my help therefore cannot support me financially. 

Would I be selfish for leaving? 
I wanted to get married to start a family.
