Wa alaikumussalam, Just a friendly remark: It would have been nice to 'lead by example' and quote the verses from the Qur'an that 'tell us to embrace the Torah' (if they exist). In that case, we would know exactly what verses you are referring to, and therefore (perhaps) be able to comment on them. Kind regards MIAW

Although we respect other people's faiths and religions, our Qur'an is complete: “This day, I have perfected your Deen for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your Deen.” (Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:3) Also: [6:38]
Yusuf Ali: There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end. Shakir: And there is no animal that walks upon the earth nor a bird that flies with its two wings but (they are) genera like yourselves; We have not neglected anything in the Book, then to their Lord shall they be gathered. Yusuf Ali: One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims. Shakir: And on the day when We will raise up in every people a witness against them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness against these-- and We have revealed the Book to you explaining clearly everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for those who submit. Those books are also from Allah
so they speak the truth and right thing there is nothing wrong in following it. But those books are for the people of those times and Quraan is for us. However, i read somewhere that these books have been changed by people their words have been changed by people so it is very difficult to say whether it is really reliable or not. |

Believing in the idea that Torah was revealed from Allah is one thing and believing that everything that is now described as Torah is another. There is original Torah or Gospel . The books referred as Torah and Gospel were compiled long after the Prophet upon whom they were revealed.
Use the Quran as the criterion. If there is anything that contradicts the Quran or its guidance, then it cannot be attributed to Allah
