Asalaam Alikum. Can you please help me in this matter. I want to know if someone can marry a person who has a friend who drinks occasionally. But never in front of that person or in the company of that person. Can I marry such a person who has such a friend? Please tell me what Islam says about this matter.

Wa aalaiakum salam,
This sort of habit on the part of the individual may create problem in the future. It might lead to serious complications. Please think wisely. 
The choice of marriage is to be made very carefully recognizing that each one of us is a sinner. But there are certain habits that might complicate relations and drinking is one such.
