Salam,

If prophets and messengers were sent to all nations and there have been thousands sent, why are none other than the Hebrew line mentioned in the Quran? In fact, they are not mentioned in Jewish and Christian texts either. Even when the prophet visits heaven on the night journey, he doesn’t meet any of the other nation prophets? And since to be a messenger or prophet, it takes years of effort and convincing so the person makes an impact on the society. They will be recorded in history books of that nation. If thousands of messengers were sent, wouldn’t you expert to see more similarity between the worlds several hundred faiths? Just mentioning the fact that every nation has had a messenger and thousands is mentioned in Hadith without any further mention of their names or being met in heaven on the night journey or not seeing them mentioned in earlier texts of Jews and Christians, leaves a person wondering.

Regard

Wa alaikum salam,
The Quran mentioned some 25 names of messengers primarily because the community that was the first to hear the message knew about them or at least their learned knew about them.
But the Quran makes reference to other messengers also. How do we determine who was what. To look at the message and find out the similarities.
Best Regards,
Aslam Abdullah

The ones mentioned were for them and the others for us. So who are the others?

Well, that requires a study of the belief system of faiths and we find anyone talking about the unity of God and unity of humanity and the accountability we can assume that the message had a divine origin.

Well, you have the names of at least 25 of the prophets. Learn about them and learn their message. Once you have learned that, learn about other religion communities whose names have not been mentioned in the scriptures. Try to find out who among them propagated the same message as was propagated by messengers mentioned in the Quran. This would give you an idea of their message and its nature. If you find them in consistent with the message brought by messengers mentioned in scriptures, you can assume that the origin of their message was divine.
Best Regards,
Aslam Abdullah
