It sounds very much like the general attitude of faith being a matter of peoples private affair that is the general rule in Europe.

This attitude happened after the 30 years war here where vast numbers of people died.

That the Islamic world is getting there with a tiny amount of violence (by comparison) is very positive and a tribute to the effect of a higly litterate and informed population.
