Gauth al Azam

   There is a song that I have been listening to and in the lyrics, Gauth al Azam is referenced.  The lyric is:

Come on over

Said the tripper to the Gauth

Ul-Azam was the Gauth

Cotton wool dede

Master of masters

I tell you dede

Later the lyrics continue:

Hagia Sophia

And you are the Ahmad too

And you are the Jesus, the Moses

The Ahmad too

"Yeah." says the Gauth

"True." says the Hu

I've been able to research what Hagia Sophia is, but I can't quite figure out who Ul Azam is or what a gauth is.  I did find a reference to a Gauth Al Azam, so I'm assuming that is who is being referenced.  I also do not know who Ahmad or Hu is.

Can anyone assist me?  The singer is Peter Murphy and he resides in Turkey and I'm pretty sure he is a follower of Islam (hence the references).
