What muslims don't realise is that Christianity existed before Constantine, such that Constantine could have not created Christianity. Moreover, Constantine's mother was already a Christian, a catholic in this case.

This is true.  Some groups considering themselves Christian, but which are cults, try to say that Constantine shaped Christianity.  That is ludicrous.

Constantine did substantially shape Christianity.  When he made Christianity the state religion of Rome he created a need for public worship and the codification of the Bible.  It also resulted in schism of the non-Roman churches.

Of note to Islamic scholars per hadith the Prophet Muhummad was primarily influenced by Nestorian and Ebionite (Judaic) Christians.  His prophethood was first proclaimed by a Nestorian hermit (Ibn Sa’d I/1, 83) and Kadijah’s first cousin Waraqah, an Ebionite bishop who was present and proclaimed, “Holy, holy!” when Muhummad first described his visitation by Gabriel and the angel’s command to “Recite!” (Ibn Ishāq, 153-4).

Considering Waraqah then swore his support for Muhummad (ibid) it seems reasonable to consider a Christian to be the first proto-muslim.  But Constantinian Christianity does not seem particularly relevant.

Well said David C. What Rehmat is too scared to admit is that Islam has its beginnings in paganism. Shirk ! Look at the Haj for instance. Pagan !
