When the husband is leading prayer, is it permissible for the Mother to pray alongside her children?  Sons included?

I know she must pray behind the Imam, but when they are her sons can she pray beside them or must she move to even behind them?

Hi Angela

The general ruling is:

Father - leads the prayer

The Sons in the first row

The mother and daughters in the next row - if no daughters the mother stands alone in the last row.

Verily your Lord is quick in punishment; yet He is indeed Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful (Surah Al-Anam 6:165)
"Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him is our return" (Surah Baqarah 2: 155)
