harrdnut,

From you and my comments:

"The prophecy of Isaiah WAS FULFILLED.

A vigin had a baby born to her, and His name was GOD WITH US or Emmanuel.

If the baby was not born to the virgin then you can say the prophecy was NOT fulfilled."

BMZ: The baby was not named Emmanuel at all by his mother. This baby's name was Jesus. According to the prophecy, the mother had to call the baby Emmanuel. There could have been another prophet Emmanuel born to a "virgin" in the distant past.

"Mary conceived and nobody knew about it untill the angel revealed it to Joseph.  If the angel had not revealed it, Joseph would have had to stone Mary to death in public, accordiong to the Mosaic Law."

BMZ: I can't accept that argument. Mary was fully protected by God and God had taken full responsibility for her safety and she could not be touched or harmed by anyone. Mary had the message from Gabriel long before Joseph heard anything. By the way, Qur'aan does not talk of Joseph at all.

Here, Qur'aan describes it best and a short summary for your reading pleasure:

Upon getting the message from Gabriel that she would carry a child, she withdrew from the people and only came out after giving birth to Jesus, carrying him in her arms. She had received a message from God that she should keep quiet and should not talk to people. In other words she was told to keep her mouth shut and let God handle.

When she came out and people saw her with baby Jesus, they accused her and all she did was to point to the child. The child told them the truth, gave a short speech and cleared his mother's name. Unfortunately Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were not there, so they did not know what really had happened.

The Infancy Bible and stories about the baby Jesus or child Jesus and boy Jesus have already been thrown into the bins of apocrypha and most Christians have no clue about this.

I hope you will not ask me,"How could an infant speak?"

That was no ordinary infant and God made him speak to clear his sweet mother's noble name.

If God could make a donkey speak, it was easier to make a human child speak. Qur'aan's narration makes it so simple and easy to understand.

It shows that the prophecy, which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, was not fulfilled because Jesus was not named Immanuel by his mother.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The prophecy of Isaiah WAS FULFILLED.

A vigin had a baby born to her, and His name was GOD WITH US or Emmanuel.

If the baby was not born to the virgin then you can say the prophecy was NOT fulfilled.

A virgin-birth was IMPOSSIBLE even today by natural means.  (Today it is ARTIFICIALLY done).

Mary conceived and nobody knew about it untill the angel revealed it to Joseph.  If the angel had not revealed it, Joseph would have had to stone Mary to death in public, accordiong to the Mosaic Law.

Mat 1:20

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

Mat 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,* because he will save his people from their sins.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Prohet Isaiah was not known by everybody in Israel because he lived 700 yrs before the virgin Mary anf Joseph her husband to be. The angel APPEARED to Joseph right in front of him in a vision.

Who should they pay more attention to:  An unknown propohet or the immediate angel?

As a Born-Again Christ-follower, I think that the god of Islam should honor prophet Mohammed more than Isa Al Massih.

The Lord Almighty honoured all the prophets in Qur'aan.

However, if you are saying that Jesus is the most honoured in Qur'aan, then you better read this:

Qur'aan tells us that Yahya (John the Baptist), was the first prophet whom the Lord Almighty, for the first time, had called by that name and his parents name him.

Another prophet, who was raised to the loftiest stature in the sight of the Lord Almighty, was Enoch (Idrees).

Compare that with Jesus. He was supposed to be named Immanuel by his mother but unfortunately, instead of being named Immanuel, he was named Jesus by people but is not remembered by his real name. He is remembered with a Greek name.

Pl read the followinmg and find out the truth about the name Jesus.

Mat 1:18

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

Mat 1:19

Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

My point is that the child was not named Immanuel at all by Mary.

It shows that the prophecy, which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, was not fulfilled because Jesus was not named Immanuel by his mother.

Shasta's Aunt: "Well, there's the difference you see. The Bible was written by man about God, The Quran was revealed to man by God."

Let me show you how Isa Al Massih is the most highly honored human being in the Quran, let alone any prophets.

[2.87] And most certainly We gave Musa the Book and We sent apostles after him one after another; and We gave Isa, the son of Marium, clear arguments and strengthened him with the holy spirit,

[3.45] When the angels said: O Marium, surely Allah gives you good news with a Word from Him (of one) whose name is the '. Messiah, Isa son of Marium, worthy of regard in this world and the hereafter and of those who are made near (to Allah).

Now pl tell me :  Is there anybody, including Prophet Mohammed who is honored , even equal to, like Isa Son of Mary?

I say, not one prophet nor any other human being is honored like Isa is honored by Allah in the Quran.

Add to the above thae fact that Isa's Mother Mariam is always mentioned everytime Isa is mentioned.

What is so important about Mariam?

Here it is from the words of Allah:

  1. [3.41] He said: My Lord! appoint a sign for me. Said He: Your sign is that you should not speak to men for three days except by signs; and remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and the morning. f42. And when the angels said: O Marium! surely Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of of the world.

Mariam was chosen by Allah to be ABOVE all other women of the world.

------------------------------------------------------------ ----

The above makes Isa doubly honored because Isa was born to the most highly honored of all women in the world.

When did Allah honor any other human being, including all the prophets of the word, more that or even just equal to the HONOR bestowed on Jesus Christ?

The answer is:  Never and nowhere!

Who or what prompts you to enlist in the hordes of Gog and Magog?

In this context the Qur'an warns:

"Upon this day when their faces are turned about in the fire, they shall say: 'Ah, would we had obeyed God and the messenger!' They shall say: 'Our Lord, we obeyed the chiefs and great ones, and they led us astray from the way. Our Lord, give them chastisement twofold, and curse them with a mighty curse" [ Qur'an, "The Confederates", chapter 33:66].

The next verse admonishes:

"O believers, be not as those who hurt Moses, but God declared him quit of what they said, and he was high honored with God" [Qur'an, "The Confederates", chapter 33:68].
