its sad that someone of the Popes standing would say such things. even sadder that none of his editors or writers or whoever screens his speeches, none of them picked up that this was inappropriate. one is also curious as to why the Pope chose to quote someone so ancient . what made him go so far back in   history n quote what was said so may years ago. what was the aim of all this?

Yeah, just a spelling error. But I notice neither one of you can reply

to the post with any original ideas or comments of your own. Which

proves my point. Muslims have a long way to go when it comes to

admitting faults within our religion and dismissing the evil people

related to terror.

First of all your grammer sucks, it's "didn't have" and your spelling is

horid! So from my post you assume I am a communist? HUH????????

What I am saying is from the phrophet Jesus, P.B.U.H., we were

taught to 'turn the other cheek'. A wiser choice for Muslims would

have been to respond to his remarks with diplomacy instead of

violence. They are proving his point!  And as Muslims, we are in

need to reflect deeply about our past during the period of the

crusades. Let us follow the example of the Catholic church.  The

Church has admitted the genocides and changed their attitutes

and through time adopted a "western" approach to accepting people

of other faiths. In Ireland the Christians there are ex-communicated

because they do not accept this notion of peace and continue to

kill people. So often we are told Islam is a religion of peace. Okay,

well if we want the rest of the world to believe us, we need to step

up and make official statements against statements like those in

the above artical.
