MAS Freedom Announces Updated Petition to President George W. Bush

Date Posted: Tuesday, August 01, 2006

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

New Link Available Today - Pass It On!

WASHINGTON, D.C. - August 1, 2006 (MASNET) - The Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation (MAS Freedom) launched an online petition drive on July 5, 2006 calling upon all people of conscience to support the American Justice for Palestine 'AJ4P'/Lebanon and the Middle East campaign by joining its online petition drive.  Due to events that followed the initial launch of the 'AJ4P'/Lebanon campaign and online petition drive, it has been deemed necessary that the original petition's content to be officially updated.

Effective August 1, 2006 signatures will no longer be accepted on the previously launched online petition, and a notice will be installed on the original petition re-directing visitors to the new petition.  MAS Freedom Foundation's American Justice for Palestine 'AJ4P' and Lebanon Petition to President George W. Bush - located here: http://www.petitiononline.com/aj4pl06/petition.html.

Quote from petition:

The July 30 Israeli air strike against the southern Lebanese town of Qana, made with U.S. supplied planes and bombs, flattened a three-story building where as many as 100 were seeking shelter. Confirmed civilian casualties numbered 55, of which 37 were children. It is tragic that this Israeli aggression has killed more children than combatants.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed and thousands have been made homeless.

These actions constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.

We demand an immediate cease fire.

We demand that the United States ends its one-sided foreign policy that allows Israel to violate human rights, U.S. and international law with impunity.

Thus, we call for the termination of all U.S. aid to Israel, due to its violation of the U.S. arms export control act which prohibits nations who receive U.S. aid and American weapons from using such materials to attack and wage war against civilian populations.

Striving for a just peace in the Middle East, I/we are,

Sincerely,
