Alhamdulillah, Allah guided me to Islam.

In a nutshell, one night watching a late night movie the conversation between two people caught my attention...

"Well, we will never be able to unravel the answer to life, it's too big to think about...so we just go about our lives solving simpler things."

From that moment I spent 7 long years peeking in every nook and cranny searching for God...searching for the answer to life.

I never discussed my search nor religion with anyone...except my family..who concurred that I was slowly going insane. Not once in all that time did I notice the word, Islam or Allah or Muhammad until...

In desperation one night I said..."this is it...just one more clue to solve...or I'll concede defeat".

We finally had the internet at home...

switch on computer...
select search engine...
type in biblical references and religious co-ordinants...
hit enter...
and up comes page after page of...ISLAAM.

Pick one at random...
Sura Baqarah opens...
and I read...

"This is the Book; in it is guidance sure without doubt to those who fear Allah."

I exclaim...ah ha!!!
Found ya!!!

Seven long years...and it was finally was over, I had solved the answer to life.

Ash-hadu ala ilaha illal-Lah wa-ash-hadu anna Muhammadur rasululah.

Asalam walaikum

Welcome to Islam. Alhamdulillah! =-)
Your story is short but touching. I'm sure all of us are very happy for you.

Qur'an Al-Waqi'ah 56:1-7

"When what is to happen comes to pass-which is bound to happen undoubtedly-degrading (some) and exalting (others); when the earth is shaken up convulsively, the mountains bruised and crushed, turned to dust, floating in the air, you will become three categories:"

Interesting that it was seven years. Because 7 is so important in islam. Ark of Noah made 7 rounds around the Kaba. (so do we Muslims.)

Bismillah,

Okay.  I've been up since way too early.  Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm going walking with my son now.  Bye!
