Isra-Miraj is a significant event in Islamic history, which refers to the night journey of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to the heavens. Here's a brief overview of the history of Isra-Miraj based on the Quran and Hadith:

The Quran does not provide many details about the Isra-Miraj, but it briefly mentions the event in Surah Al-Isra. The verse says, "Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless." (17:1). The Sacred Mosque is Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, while the farthest Mosque is Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.

The Hadith provides more details about the Isra-Miraj. According to the Hadith, the journey took place in the 12th year of the Prophet's prophethood. The Prophet was in the house of his cousin, Umme Hani when he fell asleep. In his dream, the angel Jibreel came to him and took him to Masjid al-Haram, where he led him in prayer. Then, Jibreel took the Prophet on a winged creature called Buraq to Masjid al-Aqsa, where he met the previous Prophets and led them in prayer. From there, the Prophet ascended to the heavens, where he met Allah and received the command to pray five times a day.

Masjid al-Haram is the most sacred mosque in Islam and is located in Mecca. Buraq is a mythical creature that is said to have carried the Prophet from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa during Isra-Miraj.  Masjid al-Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam and is located in Jerusalem.

During the Isra-Miraj, the Prophet saw many strange things, including a tree that had fruits of different tastes, a river of water, milk, and honey, and a group of people who had their lips and tongues cut off. He also saw the angels and the jinn.

During his journey, the Prophet met previous Prophets, including Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all). He also saw the different levels of paradise and hell.

One of the most significant events of the Isra-Miraj was the commandment to offer five daily prayers. Initially, the command was fifty prayers a day, but Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) pleaded with Allah to reduce it, and it was eventually reduced to five.

The Isra-Miraj teaches us several lessons, including the importance of prayer, the unity of the Prophets and their messages, and the ultimate reward of the believers in the afterlife. It also highlights the importance of having a strong faith and trust in Allah.
