As-Salaam alaykum,
Patience, al-sabr, is a prominent station on the path to Allah Ta'ala. As taught in the Holy Qur'an, sabr (patience) is the attitude of Allah's Messengers: Ayub and Yakub (Job and Jacob)... "and Allah is with those who show patience" (2:153) "Sabr is to remain unmoved before the arrows of the Divine Decrees", says Muhasibi. Others would change the words "Divine Decrees" into "afflictions" but the meaning remains the same: perfect patience is to accept whatever comes from Allah, even the hardest blow of fate. And the 'Ulama divided patient people into 3 classes:-- (1) The Mutasabbireen.. those who attempt to be patient. (2) The sabireen... those who are patient in affliction and (3) The Saburuun... those who are perfectly patient under any condition. Where do you fall? Don't you see that it is through patience that the fruit becomes sweet? Only through patience does the seed survive the long winter and develop into grain, which, in turn, brings strength to people, who patiently wait for it to be turned into flour and bread.
