Hello brothers and sisters. Im brand new here and to Islam in general. A little about me...i am a 39yr white American male. I am married to my wife of 15 years and have 3 children 2 girls and 1 son. I live in St.louis Mo. I spent 6 years in the American army and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan in 07 and 10 respectively. I was raised christian but religion wasnt a big thing in my life until i was about 26 yr old. Since then ive began to live more for God/Allah. I was taught that Muslims worship a false God and were completely differant than me and i believed that until i decided to find out the truth myself and as im sure you already know those things are not true. We both believe in the same God and are much more similar than differant we just worship Him differant. I say all that to say this...im reading the Qu'ran right now (a English translation) and feel like im not getting the full gist of what Islam is. So i was wondering if someone could help me link up with a Muslim man to study the Qu'ran with and who could be my guide. I live in St.louis Missouri so if there is someone near me or someone online that would be willing to teach me i would be grateful. Ok i think thats all for now. Mas Alma Peace to all.

Find the closest mosque via islamicfinder and start attending whenever you can, and with as much consistency as possible. This is the best way to learn. Prayer in congregation with others.
