Assalamu Alaikum,
From a Muslim perspective, we need to approach this pandemic as follows: 1) Get closer to Allah (The Almighty God SWT), by repenting, making Istighfar (Asking for forgiveness for our countless daily sins and trespasses, for ourselves and others), Making Duaa (Supplication) for ALL HUMANITY (regardless of faith, convictions, religion or no religion, race, color...etc)... Increase your Qur'an reading/understanding, your prayers, your Dhikr and any 'good' practices. 2) Follow the advice and recommendations of those who are in charge (experts/authority). 3) Help others around you, especially those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with underlying health conditions... etc, albeit doing it safely and carefully, and again: regardless of faith, convictions, religion or no religion, race, color...etc... But make sure that you do this for the sake of Allah SWT... It will earn you great rewards. 4) This is a 'test' from Allah SWT, so we need to be patient. Qur'an [2:155] Sahih International Translation: And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, 5) Here's a difficult one to do (for some people): A good Muslim does everything to help (themselves and others) survive/eradicate this virus as if EVERYTHING depends on this pandemic... but at the same time: 'Rely upon' and 'Have faith' entirely in Allah SWT, because/as if NOTHING depends on this pandemic! 6) Above all: Don't panic, Say 'Alhamdulillah', praise and thank Allah SWT for His Tests and Tribulations upon us, for we (humans) know nothing (comparatively): What seems to be bad might have a lot of good hidden within it, and at times: what seems to be good might have evil hidden within it (there's a qur'an verse to this effect)... Always think: Allah Runs Things in Mysterious Ways! 7) In Islam, we believe that we are only 'passers by' in this life (i.e. we are not destined to settle here and stay for ever), and therefore we go through all sorts of tests, trials and tribulations. We believe that the next life (hereafter) is where the results of these trials and tests will be... there will be no tests there: Qur'an [40:39] Yusuf Ali Translation: "O my people! This life of the present is nothing but (temporary) convenience: It is the Hereafter that is the Home that will last. 8) If you find yourself with plenty of spare time, don't waste it on Haram practices... instead: engage in Halal (i.e Islamically allowed) activities (including physical and mental exercise). |

9) When you go shopping: DO NOT PANIC-BUY (i.e. think of others and only buy what you need for that week). 10) If you own a shop: DO NOT INCREASE PRICES!. This is a test from Allah SWT, and He Will Be Watching!! |
