We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.

Martin Luther King Jr.
US black civil rights leader & clergyman (1929 - 1968)

Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Al-Burqani narrated from Abu `Imran Al-Jawni that he said, " `Umar bin Al-Khattab passed by the monastery of a monk and he said: `O monk!' Then the monk came out, and `Umar looked at him and began to weep. Then it was said to him: `O Commander of the faithful! Why are you weeping' He replied: `I remembered the statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in His Book:

(Laboring, weary. They will enter into Fire, Hamiyah. Surah Al-Ghashiyah) So that is what has made me cry.

You cant be a good muslim if you are not decent and have a cold heart. Be a decent and kind person and care for women and children and the elderly.

As-Salaam Alaikum,

All praises is due to Allah for Martin Luther King, Jr.  For those who don't know about this man please go to this website, www.thekingcenter.org.  One time I heard a old tape given by King, alhamdulillah, powerful words.  I plan to get some for myself.  I also have old tapes by Malcolm X too, alhamdulillah powerful word too.  I cry everytime I read about King's life and the life of other's who fought for civil rights.  They really gave up their lives, they lost their homes, jobs, and sometimes lost of their lives to fight for freedom, justice, and equality.

Hakeema
