May Allah accept your fasting!

The Prophet (ṣallallāhu alayhi wa sallam) said Whoever prays with the imam until he finishes, Allah will record for him as if he spent the whole night in prayer ~ [Collected by Tirmidhi]

Ramadan Mubarak!  May our fasts and extra acts of ibadat be accepted.  Ameen!

Salaam Alaikum to all the Muslim posters on this forum.

Just thought I'd drop in for a second and say that although I do not share your faith, I wanted to wish you a good and safe Ramadan and a happy Eid.

May God bless you and your loved ones, and may we all grow closer to Him and get to know Him better.

Ramadan Kareem!

Got this forward, thought worth sharing:

THINGS TO BE AVOIDED DURING RAMADAN

1. Don't sleep during the day and pray all night.
By doing this you are converting the day into
night and the night into day, which is not the
purpose of fasting.

2. Avoid being lazy and inactive during the day.

3. Don't waste time playing games during the
day. Rather, please Allah by increasing in your
worship of him.

4. Avoid having Iftar parties. Ramadan wasn't
meant to be a food extravaganza.

5. Dont ask your wife to spend Ramadan in the
Kitchen. Eat something light and quick - she
isn't Biryani woman.

6. Spend the last 10 days worshipping Allah
rather than trying to prepare for Eid! A day
that is better than a thousand months is in
these last 10 days. You can't afford to miss this.

7. Dont stay awake the full night. Your body
has a right over you, and when it wants rest,
then rest.

8. Avoid excessive socializing after Taraweeh

9. Avoid shopping a lot in Ramadaan.

10. Don't eat the full night.

11. Don't loiter around at night rather than
worshiping Allah.

12. Eid doesn't require loads of preparation.
Don't fall into this trap! Keep it simple, and it will be
blessed.

May we witness this Ramadan with
sound health - AAMIN

I just realized, it is Ramadan, and I should have remembered to wish everyone to find the blessings they seek during this Ramadan season.  May all be well, and go well, with you.  I admire your commitment to fasting.  I am not so disciplined in that area though I try.
Blessings all,
Caringheart

Statement by the President on the Occasion of Ramadan

On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our best wishes to Muslim communities here in the United States and around the world on the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.

A time for self-reflection and devotion through prayer and fasting, Ramadan is also an occasion when Muslims around the world reaffirm their commitment to helping the less fortunate, including those struggling because of economic hardship and inequality. Here in the United States, we are grateful to the many Muslim American organizations, individuals, and businesses that are devoted to creating opportunity for all by working to reduce income inequality and poverty, not only through their charitable efforts, but also through their initiatives to empower students, workers and families with the education, skills and health care they deserve.

Ramadan also reminds us of our shared responsibility to treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves and the basic principles that bind people of different faiths together: a yearning for peace, justice, and equality. At a moment when too many people around the world continue to suffer from senseless conflict and violence, this sacred time reminds us of our common obligations to pursue justice and peace and to uphold the dignity of every human being.

As Ive done every year as President, I look forward to welcoming Muslim Americans from across the United States to the White House for an iftar dinner. It will be another opportunity for me to convey Americas appreciation for the contributions of Muslim Americans to our country and to wish Muslims around the world a month blessed with the joys of family, community, peace and understanding. Ramadan Kareem.
