Wa alaikum slam,

Taraweeh is like regular prayer, the differennt is only the intention.

There 8 rakaah (unit), (you do it as 2 rakaah 4 times)

Then you 3 rakaah (unit) witr (2 rakaah and 1).

So total you pray 11 rakaah (8+3)

You can read any surah, there is no specific surah. For example you can read surah 104 to 114 (11 surah for 11 rakaah).

However some mosque such as in many middle east mosque, read the whole qur'an within the month of ramadan during taraweeh. But perhaps that's its too hard for most people, so you can read wahatever easy/posible for you, of course the longer surah you read you get more reward, like the prophet teaching Allah give you 1 reward of each letter when you read the qur'an.

Salam/Peace,

Semar
