Interesting survey and interesting choice of words for a survey. I bet the survey results would be different if the question were posed slightly differently, like, for example "Should women be allowed to choose their own clothing?"

Muslim men impose dress codes on women.
Muslim men would never allow women to impose dress codes on men.
That's the problem with Islam in this matter. I wonder how Muslim men would react when being forced to wear a burka or niqab.

Assalamalecum don't blame islam, there is no problem in islam, there is problem in followers, Allah never say to men to impose on women in fact Allah says in ch 4 v 19 that don't tr8 women harshly but if one for the betterment of women themselves say to them to put hijab then it is not wrong because its the command of lord, Allah says in ch 33 v 59 to prophet to tell the women to put a viel whenever they go out so that they can b recognised as muslim and prevented from molestation.

Exactly, if women wish to wear the hijab so be it. I would be interested to know your opinion of what percentage of women wear the hijab because they wish to and what percentage of women wear it for "other' reasons.

I think u should go for the meaning of hijab first, you should not take opinions from others as this will be your choice and lifestyle. Just take it easy and ask your self why u should wear hijab then u will be more curious to get the exact answer. You can find new designs of scarfs on many websites online.

The Quran does not require a woman to cover her hair, but rather to dress modestly and to cover her chest. It is people who commit molestation that have to change, not the victims of it.
