When Hamas shoots rockets into Israel or a Chechen extremist sets off a bomb in the US or Russia, it is rightly recognized and condemned as terrorism.

Yet when the world's most powerful nation shoots missiles into villages populated by innocent and unarmed Pakistani Muslims because of the possibility that one of their enemies may be hiding there, it is a "military operation".

How can the US and UK claim to be waging a war on terror if it is perpetrating terrorism on a regular basis across the world?
