"the first step of being a muslim is coming on God's cause, ie making Allah's mission our mission.....today no muslim is a true muslim by that standard even if he fulfills the 5 pillatrs of islam"
@rememberallah Peace be upon you and within you. Good post, and agree completely. A very good article that explains this exactly, and goes even further to explain why it is so, appeared in 2016 on a quite popular website based in the west, known as Veterans Today. This was it: Are You a Real Muslim https://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/01/17/are-you-a-real-muslim/ It is hard hitting and thought provoking, but that is often times how the truth is when it is real. Anyone who seeks to really be a Real Muslim ("True in Faith") could certainly benefit from reading it. |

A Momin (True Believer) is one in whose heart the Kalima (Declaration of Faith) can be heard, which is the first condition in Islam i.e. declaration by the tongue and affirmation by the heart.
To become a Momin, Gods name enters your spiritual heart. Your heart becomes engaged in remembrance of God (Dhikr Allah). Noor (divine energy) is produced from this practice and then that Noor spreads throughout your body; it makes your body obedient to it. Then you will become obedient to God and become a Momin. If you are not a Momin, you have Satan in you. |

A Muslim is one who submits to Islam. Islam is submission to the desires of Allah. Islam is what is brought out in the Quran, the words of Allah.

If you want to be a true Muslim one has to stay guided by the hadith of the holy apostle reported by Huzaifa: Stay alone and go to the top of a mountain with your sheep and worship Allah alone. The attitude of the Muslim Umma is horrible and revolting. Friendship. |

I agree. I think we've to stay close to the very basics and that's the only way we can continue to be good Muslims.

@abu loren - brother agreeing with you and understanding your point.....i would add that pointing at muslims in the west is an easy option.
you said a true muslim at least should pracvtise 5 pillar5s of islam.....i come down to even more basic thing.....the first step of being a muslim is coming on God's cause, ie making Allah's mission our mission.....today no muslim is a true muslim by that standard even if he fulfills the 5 pillatrs of islam see topic "God's cause" |

The whole world is like Hazrat Umar but no one is like his sister and brother in law.

As'alaamu Alaikkum
It was prophecied by Prophet Muhammed that religious knowledge would be lost and Muslims would apostate and deviate from the Straight Path. This is what's happening now, people do not even touch let alone read the Holy Qur'an. Muslims are inter-mingling with other faiths and are being influenced by them. For example, the majority of Muslims living in the West are far from true Muslims. To be a true Muslim, one must at least practise the five pillars of Islam. In the modern age not many Muslims are remembering Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala. Where has Dhikr gone? |
