Does someone have evidence that a "cell" exists?  Other than the contradictory statement of a mass murderer.

Who knows what law enforcement has to disprove his "cell" statement.  Competent law enforcement will usually keep their cards close to vest, but as a citizen I'm not comfortable with the lone gunman/loon/mass murderer scenario.  Hopefully, for the publics sake, he is a liar, as well as a mass murderer.

The Golden Rule applies here.  If we say that it's okay for us to use torture against them, then what will we say when they use torture against us?

Do you really think "golden rules" apply to ideologues?

Torture or not...This act of violence was god sent to the ruling party that was in trouble for upcoming election! They would pray for more idi.ots like the killer to do something even more gruesome than what Breivik did! The sacrifice of 77 has rejuvenated the dying Labor party! It happens all the time in politics! And no amount of campaign could achieve this surge for the party! Bad for the dead good for the pols!
Who could have imagined W could be two termer POTUS if not for the 911 and then robbing of the world by the Wall Street banksters under his watchWink

Yes I do, but that's beside the point.  The Golden Rule applies to us.  We cannot control what they do.  We can only control what we do.

Well than perhaps I have misunderstood your golden rule application, "If we say that it's okay for us to use torture against them, then what will we say when they use torture against us."

Alan Dershowitz, a prominent American defense attorney, surprised some observers by giving limited support to the idea that torture could be justified. He argued that human nature can lead to unregulated abuse "off the books". Therefore, it would be better if there were a regulated procedure through which an interrogator could request a "torture warrant", and that requiring a warrant would establish a paper trail of accountability. Torturers, and those who authorize torture, could be held to account for excesses. Dershowitz's suggested torture warrants, similar to search warrants and phone tap warrants, would spell out the limits on the techniques that interrogators may use, and the extent to which they may abridge a suspect's rights.
