I would like to add that people should pay their dues on time soi as not toi incur additional charges.

Yeah, the key is moderation, and even when giving charity.
 

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَى عُنُقِكَ وَلاَ تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَّحْسُورًا

... And Do Not Make Your Hand Tied To Your Neck Like a Miser Nor Stretch It Forth To Its Utmost Reach, So You Become Blameworthy, Destitute.

(Surah 17: Ayah 29)

Assalamu aleikum,
A muslim should be responsible in spending money, extravagance and waste
are strongly discouraged "[The servant of Allah swt are] those who, when
they spend are not extravagant and not stingy, but hold a just balance
between those extreme".
(Qura'n 25:67)

"O children of Adam! wear your beatiful apparel at every time and place
of prayer. Eat and drink but waste not by excess, for Allah loves not the
wasters" (Qura'n 7:31).
