We should not confuse global warming with the issue of man-made climate change. There is no doubt about global warming and this isn't rocket science. This requires regular reading of thousands of thermometers all around the world.

Yes, most of what comes out of the climate change denial movement is pseudo science funded by the fossil fuel lobby.
We need to apply the precautionary principle and listen to the majority of reputable climatologists (many of them also live in Europe and Asia). Everything else is wishful thinking and reckless endangerment. We only got this one planet. Blowing 1 million years worth of photosynthesis into our atmosphere every single year is lunacy. We need a steady transfer into the widespread use of green technologies, a process which will take 20-30 years. But we have to act now. There are huge opportunity for the Arab countries in Northern Africa by the way, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertec as one good example. Edited by Matt Browne - 23 May 2010 at 4:14am |

Yea......Al Gore, James Hansen....no problems with these nut jobs that are at the forefront of your new religion. Funny, so the climatologists who can disagree with your wonderful theology are by default "funded by oil lobby"....yea. And given that the US government is now in the habit of funding this liberal wet dream, I would say that at least there is money avaliable for opposing views (given your sweeping generalization is actually true). I hear no complaints from you that climate study funding is gladly given out to those "true believers".
Yea, we only need to listen to experts who are funded by the UN and other governments. Lets ignore that other experts who have shown your religion to be a fraud. Lets ignore all of the data tampering from your experts. Lets embrace precautionary principles with policies that wreck thriving economies with intellectually bankrupt notions like "cap and trade". Your priests will enrich themselves with your labor and you will thank them for it.
Yea....lets wreck our technology on this ecolemming wet dream...we can get rainbow powerd unicorns, magic beans, and fairies to drive our new energy! It is all in our hands now. Lets destroy western civilization on weak theories, unproven theories, on climate change and its cause. Now we are using our heads.
Maybe they can supply the rainbows to power the unicorns....

When one considers the vast amount of Greenhouse gas that released every minute I, for one, find it hard to believe that we aren't making a change. This becomes increasingly believable when taken in the context of the percentage of greenhouse gas currently saturating in the air we breathe. (<1%). So, for every one part CO2, we have to have (at least) 78 parts of Nitrogen and 21 parts Oxygen JUST to keep it at current levels. That's just my two cents... Not even considering Peak oil...

The climate change denial movement is doomed to fail. We should not waste too much time dealing with them. We should use our time to innovate.
