BE A MAN as described in the Quran, not a boy, not a male, not a kid, not a coward, not a tyrant... a MAN!
Muslim men (Quran 33:35) Believing men (Quran 33:35) Devout men (Quran 33:35) True men (Quran 33:35) Men who are patient (Quran 33:35) Men who are constant (Quran 33:35) Men who humble themselves (Quran 33:35) Men who give in Charity (Quran 33:35) Men who fast (and deny themselves) (Quran 33:35) Men who guard their chastity (Quran 33:35) Men who engage much in Allah's praise (Quran 33:35) Men who are strong and trustworthy (Quran 28:26) Men who love to be purified (Quran 9:108) Men who have been true to their covenant with Allah (Quran 33:23) Men whom neither traffic nor merchandise can divert from the Remembrance of Allah, nor from regular prayers nor from regular charity (Quran 24:37) Men of faith who believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His apostles (Quran 2:285) Men who enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil and obey Allah and His Messenger (Quran 9:71) Men (who) are the protectors and maintainers of women(Quran 4:34) Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly (Quran 25:67) Those who believe, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith (Quran 8:74) Lower their gaze and (are)... mindful of their chastity (Quran 24:30) These are the qualities of the ideal man, as described in the Quran. To all our brothers and fathers and uncles and sons out there, read and implement these qualities. You are our leaders, our Amir and our Prince so step up and be the man that are innately are! Lets show the world what being a Muslim is all about!
You are indeed the BEST community that has ever been brought forth for mankind: you enjoin the doing of what is right and forbid the doing of what is wrong, and you believe in Allah. (Quran 3:110) |

Salam alaikum
Not necessarily, for example, man are the maintainers and protectors of women while the opposite cannot be said about women being the maintainers and protectors of man.
For example, markets do not hinder MAN from the rememberance of Allah (e.g. attending Friday sermon), women don't have to attend Friday khutbas.
For example, women do not fight for faith as do men...
Other than that, yes you are quite right, it does apply to women.
