Maulana Rumi a great alim sufi and poet with his magnum opus Mathanawi, Diwan Shamsi Tabriz and Discourse Fihi Ma Fihi, when addressing his connection to Rasul al-Mustafa sallallahu alaihi wasallam put it humbly in this way :

We are on the dusts of the footstep of the Messenger

And Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib, a renown Darqawi Shadhili Master of 21th century (d.1971 Meknes/Fez) put it another way:

Oh Allah bless and grant peace to our lord and master
Muhammad, the First of Lights emanating from
the Oceans of sublimity of the Essence...
He (Rasul) is the helpers of all created beings
In the realm of forms and spirits...

Be gracious to us, O Master by his rank in movement
and in stillness, in looks and thoughts.

In another quote, the knowledges and gnosis of the all Awliya
and shuyukh are but leakages from his ocean of wisdom and lights !

One living master declares it :
We are like a grain of dust under the sandal
of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

Here we are on the never finish task and journey to study, grasp, put in actions, cultivating adab and right conduct and honoring what are due to Rasul s.a.w. May Allah gather us in his company among the siddiqun, syuhada and salihun. Amin ya Dzal Jalali wal-Ikram.

Asalam Aalaikum,

Prophet Muhammad(pbuh),the name which has been on the lips of millions of muslims not only conquered the hearts of muslims but also impressed several non-muslim historians and writers who have marked him as the most influential personality in the history who has made history?

Many Muslims including non-muslims have misconception that Muhammad(pbuh) brought Islam, but the fact is that Islam is not a new religion revealed 1400 years ago,it is a religion present on earth since the time when Adam(pbuh) first came in the world. He was actually sent by (God)Allah(swt) as the last and final Messenger to complete the chain of divine revelation(wahy) and to correct the Abrahamic tradition that was unfortunately corrupted many Centuries before his arrival.

Allah(swt) sent many Messengers and Prophets on the face of the earth before Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) but they were only sent for a perticular period and for their own nations. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) was sent as a guidance and mercy for the entire mankind.

Some Muslim thinkers and historians have stated that Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) is like a Sun and other Prophets who came before him are like lamps, just as the light of the lamp cannot replace the light of the Sun in the similar way the teachings and instructions of other Prophets cannot replace or amend the teaches and guidance of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).

Their are several other examples but I think this example is enough for those who want to understand the importance of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).

To verify the veracity of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh), we must first read about his life before Prophethood and life after Prophethood. He recieved the first revelation from (God) Allah(swt) when he was around 40 years old and before receiving the first revelation from Allah(God),he was known as "truthfull" , "loyal" and "trustworthy".

The Quraish never dared to raise their fingers on him and always had regard for him. His life before
Prophethood was as simple as it was after Prophethood.

Biased mind Western Scholars and writers have written many things about Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) in their written biography that have nothing to do with the truth and in response ,Muslim Scholars have presented their refutation to those allegations of Western Scholars. One of those Muslim Scholars is "Hussain Haykal"who has written a book titled "The Life of Muhammad" translated by "Raji Al-Farooqi".

For further information about life of Muhammad(pbuh),I would recommend you to read this Book titled "The life of Muhammad"

Regards,

who call themselves superior are actually inferior in the eyes of Allah. Those who call themselves slaves of Allah are superior not only in the eyes of Allah but also superior in the eyes of man.

The way of Muhammad

(Taken from "The Way of Muhammad", by Shaykh Abdal Qadir as-Sufi)

His name means the Praise Worthy.

Muhammad was forebearing, honest, just and chaste. His hand never touched the hand of a woman over whom he did not have rights.  He was the most generous of men. Neither a dinar nor a dirham was left him in the evening.  If anything remained and there was no one to give it to, night having fallen suddenly, he would not retire to his apartment until he was able to give this excess to whoever needed it.  He was never asked for anything but that he gave it to the one who asked. He would prefer the seeker to himself and his family, and so often his store of grain for the year was used up before the end of the year.  He patched his sandals and clothing, did household chores, and ate with his woman folk.  He was shy and would not stare into people's faces.  He answered the invitation of the slaves and the free born, and he accepted presents even if they consisted of merely a draught of milk, while because of hunger he would at times tie two stones around his stomach.

He ate what was at hand, did not refrain from any permitted food.  He did not eat reclining.  He attended feasts, visited the sick, attended funerals, and walked among his enemies without a guard.   He was the humblest of men, the most silent without being insolent, and the most eloquent without being lengthy.  He was always joyful and never awed by the affairs of this world.

He rode a horse, a male camel, a mule, a donkey; he walked barefoot and bareheaded at different times.  He loved perfumes and disliked foul smells.  He sat and ate with the poor. He tyrannized nobody and accepted the excuse of the one who begged his pardon.

He joked but he only spoke the truth.  He laughed but did not burst out laughing.  He did not eat better food or wear better clothes than his servants.

The conduct of this perfect ruler was untaught.  He could neither read nor write, he grew up with shepherds in an ignorant desert land, and was an orphan without father or mother.  He refused to curse his enemy saying, "I was sent to forgive not to curse." When asked to wish evil to anyone he blessed them instead.

If there was a bed, he slept on it. If not, he reclined on the earth.  He was always the first to extend a greeting.  In a handshake he was never the first one to release his hand.  He preferred his guests over himself and would offer the cushion on which he reclined until it was accepted.

He called his companions by their surnames so as to show honour to them, and the children as to soften their hearts.  One did not argue in his presence.  He only spoke the truth. He was the most smiling and laughing of men in the presence of his companions, admiring what they said and mingling with them.

He never found fault with his food. If he was pleased with it, he ate it and if he disliked it, he left it.  If he disliked it, he did not make it hateful to someone else.  He ate what was in front of him on the plate, within his reach, eating with three fingers.  He wiped the dish clean with his fingers saying, "The last morsel is very blessed."

One of his companion said about him, "Of all men, he was the most generous, the most open hearted, the most truthful, the most fulfilling of promise, then gentlest of temper, and the noblest towards his family. Whoever saw him unexpectedly was awed by him, and whoever was his intimate loved him."

He was sent to complete the noble qualities of character.

O Lord, bless the Chosen one with your perfect prayer of blessing. Your prayer is that which grants success in his business as befits his lofty worth. Then bless his noble family and glorious Companions and those who have followed them.

"I am a slave. I eat as a slave eats and I sit as a slave sits.", Beloved, sallallahu alyhi wa-sallam.
