Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus

   In Islam Mary, mother of prophet Jesus (pbuh) is regarded as a woman of character, the one God blessed with a son while she was a virgin. For Mary and for us it was a miracle from God, for God nothing is difficult or beyond reach as we all agree. 

3:42 Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations. 43"O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down."

Those who call themselves Jews now, reject Mary and Jesus. On the other hand some take Jesus as God, and Mary as mother of God.
My question here is to those who believe that Mary is the mother of God. 

What does it mean to you when you call Mary, mother of God? in what sense? and what does it really mean? And where did this belief came from?
