God (isn't it Gaad for ze Amreekanos?) save Aaafrica now that Wolfowitz has been there and he plans to push more Dollars there.

If a Neo-Con thinks, feels or even sees anything good in anything "good" in anything it must be of the ultimate evil design. Before they go and join hands in any other scam they shpuld be tried for War Crimes - all of them.

Bob Marley

From "Survival", Bob Marley's most political LP at a time of increased political turbulence in Africa: in Angola and Mozambique fighting intensified, and in Zimbabwe the struggle was finally coming to a head.

On the "Survival" tour Bob Marley and The Wailers consciously opened their US dates at the legendary Apollo in Harlem. Bob felt that he hadn't been marketed sufficiently to black people; reggae, viewed condescendingly by many American blacks, appeared to be seen as a threat to r'n'b; getting on black radio was near impossible. After the Apollo shows, however, longstanding residents of Harlem claimed that the area had not buzzed like that since Marcus Garvey's time there. This was the desired effect: Bob was telling black people to wake up.

Africa, Unite
'Cause we're moving right out of Babylon
And we're going to our father's land

How good and how pleasant it would be
Before God and man, yeah
To see the unification of all Africans, yeah
As it's been said already let it be done, yeah
We are the children of the Rastaman
We are the children of the Higher Man

So Africa, Unite 'cause the children wanna
come home
Africa, Unite 'cause we're moving right
out of Babylon
And we're grooving to our father's land

How good and how pleasant it would be
Before God and Man
To see the unification of all Rastaman, yeah

As it's been said already let it be done
I tell you who we are under the sun
We are the children of the Rastaman
We are the children of the Higher Man

So, Africa, Unite, Africa, Unite
Unite for the benefit of your people
Unite for it's later than you think
Unite for the benefit of your children
Unite for it's later than you think

Africa awaits its creators, Africa awaiting
its creators
Africa, you're my forefather cornerstone
Unite for the Africans abroad, unite for
the Africans a yard
Africa, Unite

Marcus Garvey gave the slogan "back to Africa". His desire was to bring all the black people to one platform to his "Back to Africa" movement.

Bob Marley is also treading the same path. But one wonders whether blacks' problem will be solved if all Africans go back to Africa and get united?

In this regard a novel the Color Purple comes to mind. Alice Walker (an African-American writer and civil rights activists) in her pulitzer prize winning novel The color Purple, brings into limelight a harsh reality. African-Americans love Africa. They want to go back to their land but when they actually go there all their expectations go wrong. Africans do not accept them. They do not want anyone to interfere or improve their lives. So the characters who went to Africa with great hopes decided to go back to the United States. The true country of African-Americans is America.  Going back to Africa to get equality and identity is only a daydream nor are Africans happy to accept them among them.  African-Americans' real abode is the United States within the scope of their entire hyphenated group identity. All else is fantasy.

What to say?

Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. God is free of all wants and He is most forebearing. (Al baqra: 263)

Brother Bob Marley's working on the African people was not only about calling back them to Africa, it was also an message to calling them to standing up...Brother Bob Marley used the words in the figurative meanings, for understanding his mission it needs more to be worked on...i agree with u that African People should stay where they live and effect to their ambiances with the soul they have and forgot to use(some of them  not)...

GET UP &STAND UP/BOB MARLEY

Bob Marley & Peter Tosh

This is the cutting call-to-arms that kicked off the Burnin' album. Seldom has the Rasta ethos been spelled out with greater sagacity, yet the theme transcends all religious and political boundaries. Amnesty International uses this song as their anthem.

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right (3 times)
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight

Preacher man don't tell me heaven is under the earth
I know you don't know what life is really worth
Is not all that glitters in gold and
Half the story has never been told
So now you see the light, aay
Stand up for your right. Come on

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
(Repeat)

Most people think great God will come from the sky
Take away ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you see the light
You stand up for your right, yeah!

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up. Life is your right
So we can't give up the fight
Stand up for your right, Lord, Lord
Get Up, Stand Up. Keep on struggling on
Don't give up the fight

We're sick and tired of your ism and skism game
Die and go to heaven in Jesus' name, Lord
We know when we understand
Almighty God is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our right

So you'd better get up, stand up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight.

Allah (SWT) clearly mentions in Quran: Lesa lil insaana illa ma saaee (man only gets what he strives for).

Its universal message transcending "all religious and political boundaries." Its the theme of success.

Without effort, success is not possible. One cannot blame society for ones failure. So effort and determination are very important.

And yes there must be someone to encourage, to lead,  while the people are in utter disappointment. Words have magical effect. Repition adds influence.

Quite motivating and evoking Lyrics

Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. God is free of all wants and He is most forebearing. (Al baqra: 263)

I wish Bob Marley could be with us,we have got so much things to do with him...

Wake Up & Live

Bob Marley and Anthony Davis

Wake Up and Live Ya Wake Up and Live
Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live

Life is one big road with lots of signs
So when you riding thru the ruts
Don't complicate your mind

Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy
Don't bury your thoughts
Put your vision to reality, Yeah!

All together now
Wake Up and Live, Wake Up and Live
Wake Up and Wake Up and Live
Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live

You see one, one cocoa full a basket
Whey the use you live big today
Tomorrow you bury ina casket
One one cocoa full the basket
Whey the use you live big today
Tomorrow you bury ina casket

All together now
Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live
Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live Keep on Playing
Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live Wake Up and Live Now
Wake Up and Live Break It Down

How is it feeling over there
Wake Up feeling wake up
Wake Up, Wake Up
Wake Up, Wake Up, come on man
You got to Wake Up and Live
Wake Up, Wake Up, Wake Up, Wake Up
