I've been married for 4 years ant the life of marriage is wonderful, you do not need to face problems by yourself. You can always be happy with your soul mates.

Being married myself, I can say that marriage requires work towards compromise. A great deal of thought should go into a decision to marry as it is a sacred bond. Regardless of religious creed, as long as pure and true love is mixed with a willingness to compromise, marriage can be one of the most beautiful, rewarding unions granted to human beings.

Mary
Children (if it Please God) Constant companion, (& friend in old age) who will feel interested in one, object to be beloved & played with. better than a dog anyhow. Home, & someone to take care of house Charms of music & female chit-chat. These things good for one's health. Forced to visit & receive relations but terrible loss of time. W My God, it is intolerable to think of spending ones whole life, like a neuter bee, working, working, & nothing after all. No, no won't do. Imagine living all one's day solitarily in smoky dirty London House. Only picture to yourself a nice soft wife on a sofa with good fire, & books & music perhaps Compare this vision with the dingy reality of Grt. Marlbro' St. Not Mary No children, (no second life), no one to care for one in old age. What is the use of working 'in' without sympathy from near & dear friendswho are near & dear friends to the old, except relatives Freedom to go where one liked choice of Society & little of it. Conversation of clever men at clubs Not forced to visit relatives, & to bend in every trifle. to have the expense & anxiety of children perhaps quarelling Loss of time. cannot read in the Evenings fatness & idleness Anxiety & responsibility less money for books &c if many children forced to gain one's bread. (But then it is very bad for ones health to work too much) |

Marriage is not something one should enter into lightly. It takes a strong commitment, love and respect for your partner. Everyday one must work on strengthening the relationship, but the rewards for your commitment and respect are endless and in the end you not only gain a spouse, you gain a best friend for life.

Many great ideas have been shared...
Marriage is one of the most wonderful experiences yet at the same time can be the most challenging. It is what you make of it. Both need to have good communication and have a desire to work at the marriage. The best advice on marriage is that if you choose to marry, work on your marriage every day! Not marrying can make it much easier in relationship to leave when things get tough. It truly depends on the individual and what one believes in. Best of luck in your decision! |
