Macedonian-Turkish vocal extraordinaire, Mesut Kurtis, is one of the biggest stars of nasheed and Islamic music. He sings in Turkish, Arabic, English, Bosnian and Albanian. Mesut discovered his love for music as a child, when he would frequently perform with music groups in local social clubs, mosques, and conferences.
Mesut released his first album – Salawat – in 2004. His uniquely strong voice and soulful songs earned him a large and loyal fan base, which multiplied manifold after the music video release of his rendition of ‘Burdah’, the thirteenth-century ode of praise for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Mesut released his fourth album – Balaghal Ula – 2019. Featuring 13 tracks and duets with special artists, including Raef, Ali Mogrebi, Mohamed Nour and Inteam. The album release followed with four music videos, shot across Malaysia and Tunisia, including UNESCO World Heritage town, Kairouan. Mesut’s fans were invited to join the music video filming for the album’s title track, ‘Balaghal Ula’.
