If we look at the record of the Republican party, we find that a large number of its leaders have adopted a very hostile attitude towards Islam and Muslims in America. Many of Foley's supporters went to the extend of slandering Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with similar accusations that Foley himself has committed. Now they want the country to believe Foley is an exception. 

How do we know? How do we know that other Republican leaders in the House or legislative assemblies are not involved in such repugnant behavior displayed by Foley? How do we know that other republican congressmen are not misusing their influence, power and prestige to seduce American boys and girls working as either pages or staff?

As citizens, we must express our outrage at the debauchery that was displayed by congressman Foley and demand that other congressmen must make their records clear. 

We don't want to be represented by individuals who are least concerned about the values they try to talk about before elections. The Republican leadership presents itself as party that upholds moral values. It was their platform on moral values that motivated many Muslims to support Republican candidates even though on social justice related issues, Muslims often found themselves closer to the Democratic party. 

The Foley case has shaken the moral foundation of the party. What is even more repugnant is the way the Republican leadership is responding to the issue? For almost one year, they didn't know anything. They even allowed Foley to recontest his seat. They helped him raise funds. They even allowed him to lead the congressional committee on sexual safety of children. What else can prove the irresponsibility of the Republican party? What else can show total apathy to such a serious issue? 

We the voters have every right to be outrageous and demand full inquiry not only on Foley's' case but also on the response of Republican leadership. This leadership has failed us on every account. How can we expect fairness and justice on any national and foreign issue from a leadership that watches silently pedophiles working inside the party and quenching their sexual thirst at the expense of taxpayers money? How can we expect this leadership to respect human dignity of fellow Americans and citizens of the world when the honor of our children is not safe? How can we believe that Foley is not the only alcoholic or sexual predator enjoying a life style at the expence of hard earned money of taxpayers?
