It is recorded in al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahihayn that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

...لا تَسُبُّوا أَهْلَ الشَّامِ» المستدرك على الصحيحين

"Never curse the people of al-Shām..." al-Mustadrak 'ala al-Sahihayn
