Turkey's Attempted Coup

Friday (July 15, 2016) night was a watershed moment for Turkey. Groups of soldiers appeared in areas across the country - telling citizens to go home and stay indoors as it attempted a coup d'etat. They announced the military had taken control to "maintain the country's secular democracy". But soon after - President Erdogan face-timed the nation - asking everyone who supported him - and the country's civilian democracy - to go out on the streets. And - they did. Leading to the failure of the coup attempt.
