HHRD Appeals for Urgent Support for Pakistan's Flood Victims

By: Blerta Kosumi   September 24, 2025

Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) has launched an urgent $5 million appeal to support communities devastated by the recent floods in Pakistan.

The initiative aims to expand emergency relief efforts, providing critical resources such as food, shelter, and medical care to millions affected. With the scale of the crisis growing daily, HHRD emphasized that every contribution, whether small or large, has the power to directly impact lives, offering immediate assistance to families in need.

A Nation in Crisis

Pakistan is once again reeling from relentless monsoon rains and flash floods, which have displaced more than 2 million people. The devastation has spread across the country, from the mountain ranges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir to the urban centers of Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Chakwal. Entire neighborhoods have been submerged, with homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure washed away. For countless families, access to food, clean water, and shelter remains out of reach, leaving them vulnerable to hunger, disease, and despair.

Mobilizing Relief on the Ground

HHRD's Emergency Response and Disaster Management (ERDM) team has been at the forefront of relief operations, working tirelessly to reach isolated and hard-hit communities. The organization has distributed hot meals, milk, dry fruits, food provisions, and clean drinking water while also deploying mobile medical clinics to treat the injured and sick. By August 19, 2025, HHRD had provided lifesaving aid to more than 6,000 families, over 30,000 individuals, offering them a vital lifeline amidst the destruction.

Yet, despite these efforts, thousands more remain cut off and in desperate need of help. The scope of the crisis has far exceeded local capacity, underscoring the importance of global solidarity and cooperation. HHRD's appeal serves as a call to action for individuals, organizations, and communities worldwide to join hands in supporting Pakistan's flood victims.

Giving Hope When It Matters Most

The $5 million campaign represents more than an emergency fund; it is a collective effort to restore dignity, security, and hope to families who have lost everything. Contributions can sustain a household for a day or even an entire community for weeks, making a significant difference in the recovery process.

As Pakistan faces another year of floods and hardship, HHRD remains committed to standing with survivors, ensuring that no family is left behind.
