Umrah is the most spiritual retreat, warming the heart and soul of Muslims with its profound significance and exceptional rewards.

This pilgrimage gives you a break from your chaotic life and a chance to self-reflect. While at the pilgrimage sites, you indulge in various acts of Ibadah and pleasing the Almighty. There are numerous Quranic duas to recite during every step of your Umrah that remind you of your purpose in Makkah and the world.

The voluntary pilgrimage allows you to reconnect with Allah Almighty through extensive duas and prayers. It lets you pour your heart out before Allah Almighty’s sacred house. Even though you can recite whatever duas and supplications you want while performing the pilgrimage, some Quranic duas become more significant and relatable at the holy sites.

So, if you have booked Umrah packages from Houston, it is time that you learn about these Quranic duas. Here are some duas that you must add to your dua list.

Quranic Duas that You Must Add to Your Umrah Dua List

Dua for Safe Travel

Before you embark on a spiritual retreat, you must start your journey by taking the sacred name of Allah Almighty and seeking His help for ease and safety. Here is a Quranic supplication that you must recite before you embark on any journey.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Subḥāna alladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn. Wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn

Translation:

“Glory be to Him who has subjected this (vehicle) to us, and we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And surely to our Lord we are returning.”

(Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:13-14)

Dua Upon Entering Makkah

What can be a better feeling for Muslims than entering the sacred city of Makkah? No doubt this is a surreal experience, but even when you are encompassed in this surreal feeling, you must ask for the mercy of Allah Almighty.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbi ighfir warḥam wa anta khayru-r-rāḥimīn

Translation:

“My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”

(Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:118)

Dua for Guidance and Acceptance Before Tawaf

After Ihram, the next ritual is entering Masjid al-Haram to perform Tawaf. Before you start this ritual, you must take your time and pray for guidance and acceptance from the Almighty. You must start your Tawaf with sincerity and pure intentions, and say this dua for the ultimate guidance and mercy.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbana taqabbal minnā, innaka Antas-Samīʿul-ʿAlīm

Translation:

“Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:127)

Dua for Forgiveness During Tawaf

There is no denying that Umrah gives you a chance at redemption. Asking for the forgiveness of Allah Almighty is one of the most prominent parts of Umrah. Imagine getting to repent for your sins while you are near the Holy Kaabah, proving your devotion to the Almighty.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbana ẓalamnā anfusanā wa in lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna minal-khāsirīn

Translation:

“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.”

(Surah Al-A’raf 7:23)

Dua for Steadfastness in Worship at Maqam-e-Ibrahim

Every pilgrim has to pay two rakaat prayers at Maqam-e-Ibrahim during Tawaf. It is an exceptional experience of profound spirituality that teaches you much about the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). While you stand at this sacred spot, you can recite the following supplication from the Holy Quran.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbi-j‘alnī muqīmaṣ-ṣalāti wa min dhurriyyatī. Rabbanā wa taqabbal du‘ā’

Translation:

“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, accept my supplication.”

(Surah Ibrahim 14:40)

Dua for Good Provision at Zamzam Well

Zamzam well is a famous miracle of the Almighty. It shows us that if we put our faith and trust in the Almighty, He helps us miraculously. So, while you are drinking the sacred water of Zamzam well, ask for good provision from the Almighty. Here is a Quranic dua that you can recite at this point.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr

Translation:

“My Lord, indeed I am in need of whatever good You send down to me.”

(Surah Al-Qasas 28:24)

Dua for Help and Patience During Sa’i

During Sa’i, pilgrims commemorate the struggle and hardships of Hajar. Therefore, you can recite the following dua while at the sacred hills.

Quranic Dua:

Transliteration:

Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa thabbit aqdāmanā

Translation:

“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make our feet firm.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:250)

Now that you know about some Quranic duas to recite during every step of your Umrah, it is time to assemble your dua list. But before that, book the perfect Umrah package that will keep you away from all the distractions during your spiritual retreat. This will allow you to focus more on duas and worship instead of worrying about your Umrah arrangements.
