HHRD Introduces KIND-R: A New Healthcare Initiative

Recently, HHRD introduced KIND-R humanitarian initiative. Pakistan has had a concerning rise in neurological diseases, HHRD shares, many of which lead to lifelong disability.
From conditions like Parkinsonism and seizures to cerebral palsy, facial palsy, and various forms of paralysis, these illnesses leave a lasting impact on individuals and their families. Among those affected, there are children too, who face challenges in both physical and cognitive development.
Despite the growing need, rehabilitation centers remain limited throughout the country. Many with disabilities are left without access to proper treatment, support, or pathways to lead fulfilling lives.
In response to this urgent need, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) has launched KIND-R, an initiative aimed at transforming the future of neurological care in Pakistan.
The Idea Behind KIND-R
KIND-R aims to become the nation’s leading neurological rehabilitation centre. It is envisioned as a central hub, connected to a network of 130 satellite centres across Pakistan. This extensive reach will ensure that care is not only specialised but also accessible and affordable for those who need it most.
Once completed, the facility will offer:
- Complete treatment for a wide range of neurological disorders
- Multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation services
- Access to qualified rehabilitation professionals
- A research and data hub to lead innovation in neurological care
- Opportunities for employment and skill development for caregivers and support staff
Construction is already underway. The first phase will include nine outpatient clinics, along with a diagnostic lab, radiology and sonology units, a pharmacy, and full rehabilitation services—all planned to be operational within the coming year.
The KIND-R Development Plan
HHRD’s vision goes beyond treatment. KIND-R is part of a long-term, multi-phase plan to build a comprehensive healthcare and educational ecosystem that supports individuals with neurological conditions throughout their lives.
The development phases include:
- Phase 1 – Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre
- Phase 2 – Land acquisition for the full KIND-R facility
- Phase 3 – Neurological Outpatient Facility
- Phase 4 – In-patient Centre with 120 beds
- Phase 5 – Community Sports and Rehabilitation Facility
- Phase 6 – College, library, and hostel to serve 500 students
- Phase 7 – University, conference centre, and exhibition space for postgraduate students and global collaboration
Each phase is designed to expand services, deepen impact, and create a legacy of care that spans generations.
HHRD Continues to Transform Lives, One Step at a Time
This is more than a healthcare facility; it’s a movement to restore dignity, independence, and opportunity for thousands across the country. Supporters can play a meaningful role by
- Funding the construction or equipment of specific departments
- Supporting the operation of treatments and services
- Donating their time or technical skills as volunteers
- Becoming long-term partners in providing rehabilitation care
Through collective support, KIND-R has the potential to change lives and build a brighter future for individuals and families affected by neurological challenges.
