The UN Security Council has held an emergency meeting called by Iran, following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
Palestine's representative at the UN said that Israel must be held accountable for its crimes. Iran and Hamas have pledged to avenge Haniyeh's death - both have blamed Israel.
