At least 274 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli assault on the Nuiserat refugee camp that freed four Israeli captives. The EU's top diplomat Josep Borrell has condemned the attacks on Saturday, and called for an immediate end to what he calls a 'bloodbath'.
Palestinians endured hours of bombardment and air strikes, as well as intense gun battles between Hamas and Israeli special forces. Hamas says three captives were also killed in that operation, including a US citizen.
