As we enter the blessed month of Ramadan, our hearts crave to ask for the Mercy of Allah. Mercy is the fundamental attribute of Allah. Ramadan is a time where Allah gives us the opportunity to ask for forgiveness, love, leniency, and understanding.

Allah mentions in the Qur'an,

O you servants of Mine who have transgressed against your own selves! Despair not of God’s mercy: behold, God forgives all sins - for, verily, He alone is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! (39:53)

Ramadan has three themes and the first theme is 'Mercy'. This theme covers the first 10 days of Ramadan. It gives us a chance to really think about our misdeeds and to erase them by asking for the Mercy of Allah. This involves asking for compassion, forgiveness, and blessings from Allah during difficult times. It helps us to realize the generosity and kindness of Allah towards his creation.
