[Ablution see Purification] [Allah's attributes:Blots out sins] [Cleanliness] [Humility] [Water:for purification]

  • O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not attempt to pray while you are in a state of drunkenness, [but wait] until you know what you are saying; nor yet [while you are] in a state requiring total ablution, until you have bathed - except if you are travelling [and are unable to do so]. But if you are ill, or are travelling, or have just satisfied a want of nature, or have cohabited with a woman, and can find no water - then take resort to pure dust, passing [therewith] lightly over your face and your hands. Behold, God is indeed an absolver of sins, much-forgiving. - 4:43 (Asad) -

[Generations previous] [Hearts:hardened like rocks] [Humility] [Qur'an:the Truth] [Remembrance of Allah:Remembrance of Allah (Zhikr)]

  • IS IT NOT time that the hearts of all who have attained to faith should feel humble at the remembrance of God and of all the truth that has been bestowed [on them] from on high, lest they become like those who were granted revelation aforetime, and whose hearts have hardened with the passing of time so that many of them are [now] depraved? - 57:16 (Asad) -
