Da'wah of the Sahabah
Question 104325: How did the sahabahs give dawah?
Question 104325: How did the sahabahs give dawah?
Answer: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. After having read about the Da'wah method followed by the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) by the Prophets and Messengers who preceded him and by his companions and those who followed them in righteousness and piety, we found that their approach can be summarized in the following points. 1- The Daia has to set the good example. Allah says about Shuaib (saw) {..I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you. I only desire reform so far as I am able, to the best of my power. And my guidance cannot come except from Allah, in Him I trust and unto Him I repent.} [11:88]2- The Daia has to set the good example by adhering fully and completely to Islamic teachings, and by not changing any of those teachings claiming he did that for the purpose of Da'wah and to live with reality.3- The Daia has to be patient and endure any harm that befalls him. Allah says: {enjoin (people) for AlMa'ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all that is good), and forbid (people) from AlMunkar (i.e. disbelief in the Oneness of Allah, polytheism of all kinds and all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befall you. Verily! These are some of the important commandments ordered by Allah with no exemption.} [31:17]4- The Daia has to be knowledgeable so that he can get to the hearts of people he is calling.5- The Daia has to talk softly and kindly to people. He should be quiet and nice with everybody. Allah says: {Invite (mankind, O Muhammad SAW) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.} [16:125] 6- He should concentrate on true attractive and beneficial stories as these have a great impact on people's minds. Such stories are numerous in books like Safwat Al-Safwa by Ibn Al Jawzy Siyar A'lam al-Nubala by Al-Zahbi etc.Allah knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Da'wah with Tableegh Jamaat
Question 104371: Is it permissible to go in Tableegh Jamaat for Da'wah work? Are these people on right path? Please guide me.
Question 104371: Is it permissible to go in Tableegh Jamaat for Da'wah work? Are these people on right path? Please guide me.
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Jamat-e-Tableegh is a Muslim Jamah known for its large and vital activities in the field of Dawah. The Muslim scholars and callers to Islam have various opinions concerning this Jamah; some of them support it while others criticize it. The moderate opinion is of those who neither condemn it totally nor approve of it totally, but admire its good activities, which agree with Sunnah, but do not agree with those activities which are not from Sunnah. This is the moderate stand and should be adopted by Muslims when evaluating any Muslim group whether it is Jamat-e-Tableegh or another group. As for going out to make Da'wah, it is permissible in general but fixing a certain period such as forty days or three days, etc. is not proved from Shariah as per our knowledge; for more details please refer to Fatwa:82024.Allah knows best. Da'wah's first priority are Islam??s principles and pillars
Question 104196: What should an introduction to Islam include?
Question 104196: What should an introduction to Islam include?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. The proper introduction to Islam was clarified by the Sunnah of the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam. It should include the following:Defining the pillars of Islam and its basis as the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, used to call people to testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His messenger. This is because belief is the corner stone of Islam.Calling the people to observe prayer, pay Zakah, fast the month of Ramadan, perform pilgrimage, and the other obligations and acts of the Sunnah as well as preferred deeds; this was the second step the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, would take. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, sent Mu'aath Ibn Jabal to call the people of Yemen to Islam. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, told him that the first thing he should do is to ask them to testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His messenger. After accepting this, he should inform them that Allaah Has ordained five daily prayers, then inform them that Allaah Has ordained the payment of Zakah[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]This narration and others like it emphasize that the basic pillars and principles should be stressed first. Question 107386: A young man used to practise sodomy and adultery and then repented to Allaah The Almighty. Now he wants to deliver lectures warning people against doing evil deeds. What is the Sharee'ah ruling on this? How can he increase his repentance and faith?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger. Sodomy and adultery are two of the gravest major sins and the worst evil deeds. Whoever has committed either of them must repent to Allaah and ask Him for forgiveness. Doing righteous deeds after one's repentance proves sincerity in repentance and is a signed for its acceptance by Allaah The Almighty. Indeed a person should not allow his previous evil deeds to prevent him from giving Da'wah, encouraging good and forbidding evil. Even if he still commits acts of disobedience, he should still encourage good and forbid evil. Indeed this is even more worthy after a person has repented to Allaah and became a righteous Muslim. We say to our brother that giving Da'wah in the way of Allaah is one of the greatest righteous deeds because its benefits extend to others. Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Da??wah for disbelieving non-Mahram man
Question 104172: My workmate is a Buddhist (he does not worship Allaah The Exalted) and he asked me to teach him Islam. How can I do that? Can I recite the Quran in front of him or is that not permissible?
Question 104172: My workmate is a Buddhist (he does not worship Allaah The Exalted) and he asked me to teach him Islam. How can I do that? Can I recite the Quran in front of him or is that not permissible?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. May Allaah The Almighty reward you for your keenness on calling people to Islam. This shows how much you really love Islam and care for Da'wah. However, you have to know that talking with non-Mahram men has certain restrictions and limits that should not be exceeded, even if it is for the sake of Da'wah. Among those restrictions are:Not to sit in seclusion with him. Not to soften your tone of voice while talking to men in a way that could tempt them. Not to wear ornaments that Islam does not approve of.It would be better for you to look for any of your Mahram men or any Muslim man to do this task instead of doing it yourself, so that you would preserve your religion and avoid any bad consequences that might only be realized after it is too late.If you could not find any one to help you, you can resort to the cassette tapes or CDs in English or in his own language (if available), the interpretation of the meanings of the Quran, and introductory books that give general information about Islam. All this is available in bookstores and most Islamic centers. You can also make use of some websites on the Internet which broadcast the teachings of Islam in English or in his language. We pray to Allaah to guide him to the right path.Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Da??wah in the light of Quran and Sunnah

Question 103970: What is the best way to do Da'wah in a society where sins, innovations and deviation from the rules of Allaah, The Almighty, are predominant, in addition to the lack of the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, many of whom are being fought by the authorities?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. There is no doubt that Da'wah (calling to Islam) is one of the most honorable activities and the best righteous deed which can bring one closer to Allaah, The Almighty. Due to its honorable status, it is only shouldered by people with firm resolution, who can sacrifice their wealth or even their own selves for this noble cause. Therefore, it is the task of the most honorable people such as the Prophets and Messengers, may Allaah exalt their mention, the callers to Allaah, The Almighty, and the reformers. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allaah with insight, I and those who follow me."} [Quran 12:108]Thus, Da'wah is something that should be done by everyone who follows the Prophet, sallaallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, but people differ in their ability to do that according to their various positions, capabilities and qualifications. We advise our dear questioner and those like him to gain the necessary knowledge that enables them to hold circles for reciting the Quran in a certain mosque or house on a daily basis or whatever is suitable to them. They could also make a schedule for memorizing some Ahadeeth (plural of Hadeeth) starting with the Forty Hadeeth, and learning some of the principles of jurisprudence and Da'wah. After that, you can gradually memorize more of the Quran and Ahadeeth as well as reading more books on jurisprudence, Da'wah and the Arabic language. In this way, you will be standing on solid ground from which you can start doing Da'wah. You will find numerous means that you did not expect that will help you to perform this task. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {O you who have believed, if you support Allaah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet.} [Quran 47:7]Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Da??wah is an individual obligation
Question 104167: I am eighteen years old and I would like to know how I can call people to Allaah.
Question 104167: I am eighteen years old and I would like to know how I can call people to Allaah.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. Da'wah is an obligation on every Muslim, each according to his own capability. Allaah Says (what means): {Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allaah with insight, I and those who follow me.} [Quran 12:108]Therefore, Da'wah is an obligation on everyone who follows the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, because he, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, ordered every Muslim to convey anything he learns from his Sunnah to those who have not heard it. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]The means and methods of Da'wah vary from one person to another according to the environment, time and place each of them practices Da'wah. For information on the qualities of the person who practices Da'wah and the methods that one may adopt, please read Fatwa 85658.Moreover, it is important to exert extra efforts in reading books that address Da'wah, its methods and the qualities of those who practice it.Allaah Knows best. Question 103974: Is Da'wah considered an act of worship on the basis that acts of worship include practice of everything that Allaah The Almighty loves, whether a deed or a saying, overt or covert? If it is an act of worship, why is Da'wah mentioned separately when describing the Muslim nation as a nation of worship and Da'wah?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. Da'wah (calling to Islam) is one of the best acts of worship for those who seek closeness to Allaah The Almighty. Therefore, Allaah The Almighty selected for this task His Prophets and Messengers, and He made their followers their inheritors. Allaah The Almighty Says what means: {And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allaah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."} [Quran 41:33] Indeed the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, was reported to have mentioned that scholars are the inheritors of the prophets. [At-Tirmithi and others. Al-Albaani: Saheeh]Describing the Muslim nation as a nation of worship and Da'wah may be a means to attract Muslims attention to the importance and merit of Da'wah as an act of worship, in the same way that Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Whoever is an enemy to Allaah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allaah is an enemy to the disbelievers.} [Quran 2:98] In this verse Allaah The Almighty mentioned Jibreel (Gabriel) and Mikaaeel (Michael), may Allaah exalt their mention, after mentioning the angels, even though they are definitely among the angels. In this context, they were given special mention. The description of the Muslim nation as a nation of worship and Da'wah may be intended to explain to those who wrongfully believe that the practice of Islam is limited within performing outward rites such as prayer and pilgrimage, that Islam is a comprehensive religion that combines outward rites, Da'wah as well as numerous other branches of faith.Allaah Knows best. Da??wah is to convey what one has learned to other Muslims
Question 104202: Is Da'wah required of a Muslim only after acquiring enough knowledge? May Allaah reward you well.
Question 104202: Is Da'wah required of a Muslim only after acquiring enough knowledge? May Allaah reward you well.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. It is the duty of all Muslims to invite people to follow the teachings of Islam. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, ordered us to convey part of what he, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, brought forth, even if that was just one verse from the Quran. [Al-Bukhari]However, to shoulder the mission of inviting to the path of Allaah, you must have sufficient knowledge about what you are presenting. Allaah Says (what means): {Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allaah with insight, I and those who follow me. And Exalted is Allaah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."}[Quran 12:108]This does not mean that a Muslim should not invite people to the path of Allaah until he knows everything about Islam. Rather, he should convey every religious matter or ruling (supported with evidences from the Quran and authentic Sunnah) that he learns to other Muslims, or to those who need to be aware of it through Da'wah.May Allaah The Almighty bless you and make you beneficial to all Muslims. Da??wah requirements commensurate with knowledge
Question 104174: Is Da'wah obligatory only for scholars?
Question 104174: Is Da'wah obligatory only for scholars?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. Da'wah is mandatory for every Muslim who has reached an age by which he is held accountable for his deeds. Every such Muslim is required to practice Da'wah in accordance with his ability and knowledge. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, ordered us to convey part of what he, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, brought forth, even if that was just one verse from the Quran. [Al-Bukhari]However, a person who invites others to Allaah The Almighty has to do this on the basis of knowledge and insight. Allaah Says (what means): {Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allaah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allaah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."}[Quran 12:108]This does not mean that a person should not practice Da'wah until he becomes a scholar, but rather he is required to be knowledgeable about the issue he addresses people with and its relevance to the receiving party, and what the most effective approach to that person in particular would be.Allaah Knows best. Question 104064: Some foreign experts work with me. When I talk to them about Islam, they listen to me. One of them is Christian and another is Buddhist. However, I do not know how to do Da'wah (Propagating Islam), and I lack the skill to introduce Islam gradually. Please, tell me how to do Da'wah, and tell me about websites specialized in educating people to do individual and collective Da'wah.
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger.
Before you attempt to ask someone else to believe in Islam, you should first have knowledge about Islam yourself. You should know the state of that person, and how to approach him. Allah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me."} [Quran 12:108]
You should do Da'wah gradually. This may take a long time, but you should be patient and seek the reward from Allah, The Almighty. Be sincere in doing Da'wah as it could rescue you from Hell. If you ask someone to accept Islam and Allah, The Almighty, makes him accept it, you will receive the same reward for the subsequent good acts done by that person.
You can use booklets about Islam that are translated into foreign languages. You can also seek the advice of knowledge seekers and Muslim propagators you know. There are also many websites specialized in Da'wah and you can visit them.

Question 104201: I am a young man who has been guided by Allah, The Almighty, to performing prayers regularly after having abandoned the mosque for years. However, some of my family members do not pray on time, while others do not pray at all. What should I do? Should I repeatedly encourage them to pray, or is once enough?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
One of the greatest blessings that Allah Grants to anyone is the guidance to obey Him and follow the way of righteousness. Anyone who receives this blessing should have mercy, sympathy and well-wishing for those whose present are like his past before guidance. Allah says (what means): {You [yourselves] were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you.} [Quran 4:94]
It was narrated on the authority of Tameem Ad-Daari that the Prophet (saw) stressed that sincere counseling and good advice for the sake of Allah, The Almighty, His Messenger (saw) and to Muslim rulers, as well as to common people, is the essence of Islam. [Muslim]
Needless to say, your family, relatives and neighbors are the ones who are most worthy of your advice. Explain to them the importance of prayer in Islam, and tell them that Allah, The Exalted, has made it compulsory at specified times. Allah says (what means): {Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times} [Quran 4:103]
Moreover, it is sinful for men to miss the prayers in the mosque as long as they meet the requirements for that obligation, except those who have a legitimate excuse.
Never despair of giving advice and encouraging others to obey Allah, The Almighty. You should do so whenever you find others doing something that displeases Allah, hoping that one day they will respond to your advice. The prophets gave us the greatest example in this regard.
In addition, you should take into consideration that Allah, The Almighty, will reward you whenever you invite them to Him, regardless of whether or not they respond. It will encourage you further to know that one of the greatest acts that bring a Muslim closer to Allah, The Exalted, is to be a reason for the guidance of ones relatives who disobey Allah, The Almighty.

Question 104189: I want to help my friends abide by the teachings of Islam and I want them to love Islam. However, I always feel shy and I do not know how to do this. They even say I am ultraconservative. Please advise me. May Allaah reward you well.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. Your keenness on advising your colleagues and friends is something that makes you worthy of praise and you shall be rewarded for your good intention, Allaah Willing. We ask Allaah The Almighty to grant you success in whatever goodness you aspire to. However, you must know that the devil always tries to prevent mankind from doing any good by his evil whisperings. Therefore, you should not give him a chance and you should strive for the sake of Da'wah, which is the most honorable mission to accomplish and exert all efforts for. Allaah Says (what means): {And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allaah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims.} [Quran 41:33]You can achieve what you aspire, if you practice Da'wah and read books that talk about Da'wah; its means and methods. All these things can be acquired, Allaah Willing, as mentioned in Hadeeth, in which the Prophet (saw) stated that knowledge can be acquired through adopting the necessary means, exerting efforts and through being patient and forbearing. Moreover, he (saw) informed in the same narration that whoever exerts effort in seeking goodness will be guided to the way to goodness, and whoever strives to avoid evil will be granted protection from it. [At-Tabaraani]If you are sincere in your Da'wah and you work hard to choose the best method to carry out this great responsibility and supplicate Allaah The Almighty to grant you success, then you shall, indeed, be successful. Moreover, once you start your mission, you shall feel no more shyness for this usually happens only at the beginning of the mission of Da'wah. You should also mix with your colleagues and cooperate with them in goodness, for the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, informed us that the believer who associates with people and endures any harm they cause him is better rewarded than the one who keeps away from people and cannot tolerate their harm. Da??wah, an individual and communal obligation
Question 104115: What is the ruling of Islam concerning Da'wah?
Question 104115: What is the ruling of Islam concerning Da'wah?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. Allaah Says (what means): {And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.}[Quran 3:104]The scholars of Tafseer have different opinions in their commentary on this verse. The predominant opinion is that Dawah is an obligation upon each and every person in addition to being a communal obligation. Ibn Katheer clarified in his commentary on the previously-mentioned verse [Quran 3:104] that there must be a group of Muslims specified for undertaking the responsibility of performing Da'wah. He added, however, that Dawah remains an obligation on every Muslim individual, each according to his own ability and knowledge. This is supported by the Hadeeth on the authority of Abu Hurayrah where the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, ordered the one who sees an evil to change it physically with his hand if he was able to do so. If he could not, he should change it by his tongue (by advising and/or condemning), and finally by (detesting it with) his heart, and he (saw) informed that this is the weakest level of faith. Daa??iyah cannot guarantee guidance

Question 104194: Some of my wifes relatives are accustomed to using abusive language in their talk. They are old people and I cannot advise them because they do not listen to anyone. What should I do?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger. It is a Muslims duty to advise others; however, guidance is in the Hand of Allaah Alone. Allaah Says (what means): {Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allaah guides whom He wills.}[Quran 28:56] In other words, Allaah Commands us to call people to His Way without holding us responsible for the results of our Da'wah. He Says (what means): {Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.}[Quran 16:125]As a matter of fact, if people give up offering advice because no one accepts it from them, no one will ever advise others and no one would enjoin good or forbid evil. Therefore, the adviser must not give up and must repeat the advice and try various methods to convey it. For instance, he may advice verbally sometimes, provide the person with a book or a tape other times, and yet at other times he may seek the help of those who may have influence over the addressed person. In other words, Da'wah is not restricted to one single means or method.Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 123837: jazakallah for answering my question on Dharul Islam and Dharul Kufr.there is another problem. some muftis say that our country is neither Dharul Islam nor Dharul Kufr ,but Dharul Amaan. I want to know what is Dharul Amaan and under what category it falls. What can Muslims do in Dharul Amaan.
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. The lands of Allaah are of two types: Muslim land (Daarul Islam) and non-Muslim land (Daarul Kufr). In the latter, either there are some reason for fighting between Muslims and non-Muslims, in which case it is called land of war (Daarul Harb), or that there are some reasons for peace, like reconciliation and covenant between Muslims and non-Muslims, in which case it is called land of peace (Daarul Amaan). Therefore, it becomes clear that Daarul Amaan (land of peace) is in reality land of non-Muslims and it is not a separate third category. As regards what a Muslim can do in Daarul Amaan (land of peace), then he should respect the laws of that country, that organizes life and does not contradict the Shareeah rulings. Moreover, he should be a good example and he should reflect on the people of that country the good traits of Islam through his dealing with them (in a good manner). However, if a Muslim fears affliction in his religion, he is obliged to migrate to a Muslim country where he would feel safe. Question 109963: I have bleeding almost everyday, and I know it's not time for my period, but I think it's from the birth control pill that I am taking. However, I do pray, but I am not sure if I am right or wrong.
Answer: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. The blood that the woman notices in days other than her normal menstruation period due to her taking pills or other things is not considered menstruation blood. So, she should not, in this case, leave performing prayers or fasting or any other thing the menstruating woman leaves during her period. We remind the questioner, however, that taking contraception pills is not lawful except for a limited period and with the consent of the husband and provided that these pills do not have any negative effects on ones health.Allah knows best. Daily supplications of the Prophet
Question 107751: I would really like to know about Sayyiduna Muhammad, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, what is the Du'a that everyday he had to say and loved to say, and that helped him through everything everyday?
Question 107751: I would really like to know about Sayyiduna Muhammad, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, what is the Du'a that everyday he had to say and loved to say, and that helped him through everything everyday?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. The Prophet (saw) used to supplicate Allaah during the day and night by many different supplications, in which he asked Allaah for something and sought protection from some other things. Some of the supplications are mentioned here.1- "Ya hayyu yaa qayyoom, birahmatika astagheeth, aslihlee sha'nee kullahu, wala takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata 'Aayn." [At Tirmithi](O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to rely on myself, even for the blink of an eye).2- "Allaahumma innee as-aluka Al-'afwa wal-'aafiyah, fid-dunya wal-aakhirah, allaahumma innee as-alukal-'aafwa wal-'aafiyah fee deenee, wa dunyaya wa ahlee, wa malee, allaahummastur 'awraatee, wa aamin raw'aatee, allaahummah-fathnee min bayni yadayya, wamin khalfee, wa'an yameenee, wa'an shimalee, wamin fawqee, wa-a'aoothu bi'athamatika an ughtala min tahtee." [Abu Daawood](O Allaah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this life and the next. O Allaah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allaah, veil my weaknesses and set at ease my dismay. O Allaah, preserve me from the front and from behind and on my right and on my left and from above, and I take refuge with You lest I be swallowed up by the earth).Ibn 'Umar said: "The Prophet (saw) never gave up supplicating these supplications in the evening and in the morning."3- "Allaahumma 'aafinee fee badanee, allaahumma 'aafinee fee sam'ee, allaahumma 'aafinee fee basaree, laa ilaaha illa ant. Allaahumma innee a'aoothu bika minal-kufri, walfaqri, allaahumma innee a'aoothu bika min 'athaabil-qabr." (Three times in the morning and in the evening).[Abu Daawood](O Allaah, grant my body health, O Allaah, grant my hearing health, O Allaah, grant my sight health. None has the right to be worshipped except You. O Allaah, I take refuge with You from disbelief and poverty, and O Allaah I take refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You. O Allaah, I take refuge with You from disbelief and poverty, and I take refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You) (Three times). Finally, we advise you to refer to the books or supplications in order to know more supplications that were recited by the Prophet (saw) in the morning and in the evening. For instance, Hisn al-Muslim written by Shaykh Sa'eed Al-Qahtaani, may Allaah preserve him, is a short and authentic book on this subject. It is translated into English and many other languages, so we advise you to acquire it. Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 101214: Assalamu Alaikum,I have a doubt regarding Dajjal. Since Allah had pre-determined to make Dajjal bad person without any test, can you please explain how we could understand justice of Allah in this matter. Can you please clarify. Thanks
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. The perception on which this question is based is wrong. Denying that the Dajjaal has no choice is not true. Judging that his fate has already been determined, if it is in the sense of the ideology of compulsion [that he is forced to do his actions and that he has no choice], then this is even more wrong. What is true is that the Dajjaal is a man from the people of Adam, and he is like them in terms of choice and (Islamic) obligations, but he is distinguished from them by other things, such as the ability to do some miracles. As regards the news about his disbelief, his tyranny, and him claiming divinity, then the matter in this regard is like the revelation about the unseen, which is part of the eternal knowledge of Allah. There is no compulsion for the Mukallaf [a person competent for religious assignment; i.e., reached puberty and is sane] to do something that is not of his choice; for example: the Quran informed us about the disbelief of Abu Lahab and him deserving Hellfire; at the same time, he is commanded to believe, but he has disbelieved with his own choice and will by which he deserves to be punished. In general, it is not necessary from the eternal knowledge of Allah that the Servant is forced [to do his actions].Shaykh Ash-Shankeeti said in Daf’ Eehaam al-Idhtiraab:“If we assume that a Jibri [a person who believes that we are forced to do our actions and we have no choice] debates with a Sunni [a person who follows the Sunnah and the correct methodology], and the Jibri said: “My evidence to my Lord is to say: I have no choice in doing my actions; the Will of Allah has to be implemented on me according to the eternal knowledge [of Allah]. I am forced [to do my actions], so how is it that He would punish me for something I have no choice to do.” The Sunni will say to him: “All the reasons that Allah has given to those who were guided, were given to you: He gave you the sense of hearing by which you hear; (the sense of) sight by which you see; and a mind by which you reason. He sent you a Messenger, and He gave you a choice and an ability, and then there is nothing left after this except being enabled (to do actions), (a matter) which is His own property; if He gives it, then this is out of His Grace, and if He prevents it, then it is out of His Justice, as Allah has pointed out to this saying (what means): {Say, “With Allah is the far-reaching argument. If He had willed, He would have guided you all.”} [Quran 6:149]” [End of quote]For more benefit, please refer to Fatawa 27274.Allah knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 101470: Assalaamu alaykum. I have a query and hope you can help. If the Dajjaal (Anti-Christ) is human and has the attributes of human beings and also belong to the religion of the Jews, then why did Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, say that every Messenger warned his nation against his tribulations, and why did Allaah create him from the first day, and how can a human live on earth for this very long time, all the way back from Adam, peace be upon him, till now without nutrition given that he is a human? Or is he not?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. The Dajjaal (Anti-Christ) is a man from among the humans by whom Allah will test His slaves in the same manner that He tests them with other evils, such as the devil, the disbelievers, earthquakes, and tribulations. Some of the Dajjaals descriptions were mentioned in the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) and among that is the fact that he is a human being. The Prophet (saw) said about the Dajjaal, "A man with a huge body, red complexion, curly hair, and he is blind in the right eye which looks like a swollen grape." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]Moreover, Ibn 'Abbaas narrated that the Prophet (saw) mentioned the Dajjaal and said, "He is a one-eyed man with a fair complexion. His head is like a snakes head. Among your men, the one who resembles him most is Abdul-'Uzza ibn Qatan." [Ahmad]Shaykh Al-Albaani said in his book Silsilat-ul-Ahadeeth As-Saheehah, after mentioning this hadeeth, "The hadeeth is explicit in that the Dajjaal is a human being, which is evidence of the invalidity of their interpretation that he is not a person and that he is a symbol of European civilization and its ornaments and temptations; rather, the Dajjaal is a human being, and his tribulation is far greater than that."As for the wisdom behind the fact that the Prophets, may Allah exalt their mention, warned their people against the Fitnah (temptation/tribulation) of the Dajjaal, then this is due to the enormity of his Fitnah so that the faith of the believers would not be shaken if the Dajjaal appeared to them.Ibn Hajar said in Fat-h Al-Baari:"Some found it hard to understand why Nooh (Noah) warned his people against the Dajjaal while the ahaadeeth stated that he will emerge after certain signs that were mentioned, that 'Eesa (Jesus) will kill him after he descends from the heavens, and that he (Jesus) will rule with the legislation of Muhammad (saw) . The answer to this is that the time of his emergence was kept hidden from Nooh and those who came after him, so they warned their peoples against him but were not told the exact time of his emergence. This is supported by the saying of the Prophet (saw) to his Companions in some narrations, 'If he comes out while I am alive amongst you, then I will defend and protect you (against him). This is interpreted to mean that he said it before he was informed [by revelation] about the time of the Dajjaals emergence and the signs for that. So it was possible that the Dajjaal would emerge during his life (saw) but then he was later informed about the signs and time of his emergence, so he informed his Companions about this. It is in this manner that the narrations could be reconciled.Ibn Al-'Arabi said, 'The Prophets warning their people about the Dajjaalis a warning against tribulations and a reassurance for them so that their sound belief would not be shaken by his Fitnah. Similarly, the implication in the statement of the Prophet (saw) that the Fitnah of the Dajjaal is near is an emphasis in warning, and he (saw) pointed out that if they would remain steadfast in their faith, then they would repel the misconceptions with certainty."As for the issue of how it is possible for a human being to live such a long time, then the Sunnah reported that Tameem Ad-Daari, may Allah be pleased with him, saw the Dajjaal, but there is no evidence that he has been alive ever since Allah created Aadam (Adam) . The fact that the Prophets warned their people against him does not mean that he was alive at their time, as we mentioned above. Shaykh Al-Albaani was asked about the hadeeth of Al-Jassaasah (the Anti-Christ's spy), which stated that Tameem Ad-Daari saw the Anti-Christ, and the following is the text of the question:Is this hadeeth [of Al-Jassaasah] authentic? Does it contradict some other ahaadeeth? He replied:"The hadeeth of Al-Jassaasah is authentic, and there is nothing in it that contradicts other authentic ahaadeeth, but it includes some details which were not mentioned in some authentic ahaadeeth and that will happen someday, and some of it has already happened The hadeeth of Al-Jassaasah is authentic, without a doubt, for the following two reasons:1- It was reported by Muslim in his Saheeh.2- We did not find in its chain of narrators any narrator whose trustworthiness is criticized."Shaykh Al-Albaani replied about the hadeeth that reads, "None of the people who are alive today will be alive after one hundred years," saying, "There is no general statement except that it is specified, and this hadeeth is an example ... except when there is a text that makes an exception to it."Shaykh Al-Albaani also said in his book entitled The Story of the Antichrist, "Know that this story is authentic that and it was reported by Tawaatur (contiguous transmission), and it was not reported by Tameem Ad-Daari alone it was also reported by Abu Hurayrah, 'Aaishah, and Jaabir, as will be mentioned afterwards."For more benefit, please refer to fatwa 290662.Allah knows best. Question 101399: Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu Shaykh. The Dajjaal (Antichrist) will not be able to enter Makkah and Madeenah. My question is about the boundaries of Makkah and Madeenah. Are they the boundaries that were present at the time of Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam? I actually heard this hadith:The Messenger of Allaah, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, addressed the people, asking three times, "Yaum Al-Khalas, and what is Yaum Al-Khalas. Yaum Al-Khalas, and what is Yaum Al-Khalas." Somebody asked, "What is this Yaum Al-Khalas?" The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said, "The Dajjaal will come and climb Mount Uhud. Then he will say to his friends, 'Do you see that white palace? That is Ahmeds masjid. Then he will come towards Madeenah, but on every path he takes, he will encounter an angel with an unsheathed sword. Then he will go towards Sabghat-ul-Jarf and set camp, and Madeenah will be jolted thrice, as a result of which every hypocrite man and woman and Faasiq (habitually sinning) man and woman will leave Madeenah and go with him. Thus, Madeenah will be purified of sinners, and this is Yaum Al-Khalas (the day of relief)." [Hakim in Mustadrak]This hadith is Sahih (authentic) according to the conditions of Imam Muslim. Imam Adh-Dhahabi has corroborated this, and Allaamah Naasir-ud-Din Al-Albaani also classified it as Sahih. To my understanding, today Mount Uhud is included within the boundaries of Madeenah (please correct me if I am wrong). Therefore, I would like to know the correct boundaries of Madeenah which the Dajjaal will not be able to enter. May Allaah reward you, Shaykh.
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. We have not come across any statement of the scholars that includes a precise text about the borders that the Dajjaal will reach when he wants to enter Madeenah. But he does not reach Mount Uhud, as the authentic narration states that he descends behind Uhud (i.e. before reaching Uhud) and the angels will drive him away.Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet (saw) said, "The Dajjaal will come from the East with the intention of attacking Madeenah until he gets down behind Uhud. Then the angels will turn his face towards Syria, and there he will perish." [Muslim and Ahmad]It is known that the borders of Madeenah from the north extend to Mount Thawr because of the hadeeth which states, "Madeenah is a Haram (Sanctuary), and its Sacred Precincts extend from Mount Ayr to Mount Thawr." [Muslim]Thawr, as stated by the scholars of Hadeeth is a mountain in Madeenah behind Mount Uhud, three miles away from Madeenah. This is evidence that the Dajjaal does not exceed the Sacred Precincts of Madeenah when he wants to enter it.With regard to the hadeeth mentioned in the question, that the Dajjaal ascends Uhud, then the answer is in the two following points:1- Not all the narrations of the hadeeth state that the Dajjaal ascends Uhud; this was only narrated in some of them, the narration by Al-Haakim in Al-Mustadrak and the narration by Ahmad. However, the narration reported by Al-Bukhaari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, by At-Tabaraani in Al-Mujam Al-Kabeer, and by Abu Daawood At-Tayaalisi states, "Mihjan (the narrator) said, 'The Prophet (saw) once took me by hand, and we went together to the top of Uhud. He looked down on Madeenah and said, 'Woe to a town whose people will abandon it when it becomes very prosperous. Then the Dajjaal will come to it and find an angel at each of its gates, so he will not enter it.'" This narration states that Mihjan was the one who ascended Mount Uhud along with the Prophet (saw) and there he (saw) informed him about the time when the Dajjaal will come out, but he did not tell him that the Dajjaal would ascend Uhud. 2- There is a difference of opinion about the authenticity of the hadeeth. Al-Haakim and Ath-Thahabi classified it as authentic, as you mentioned in the question, but other scholars classified it as Dhaeef (weak) because there is an interruption in the chain of narration between Abdullah ibn Shaqeeq and Mihjan ibn Al-Adra, may Allah be pleased with him. It is for this reason that Al-Albaani did not decisively assert that it is authentic, as he said after reviewing Al-Haakim and Ath-Thahabi: "It [the hadeeth] is as they said, if it is free from interruption between 'Abdullah ibn Shaqeeq and Mihjan, then Rajaa ibn Abi Rajaa Al-Baahili was introduced in the narration by Ahmad and Hanbal "Shu'ayb Al-Arna'oot, when reviewing the Musnad, said, "Its chain of narrators is weak because of interruption. Abdullah ibn Shaqeeq did not listen to the narration of Mihjan ibn Al-Adra, and between them there is Rajaa' ibn Abi Rajaa, as stated in the following chain of narrators, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy according to the criteria of the Sahih hadeeth."Rajaa ibn Abi Rajaa is unknown; Ath-Thahabi said about him, "It is only 'Abdullah ibn Shaqeeq who narrated from him; his rank according to Al-Haakim is "acceptable"; meaning: if the same narration is narrated by other chain of narrators."Allah knows best. Dajjal's parents
Question 103331: What will happen to Dajjal's parents?
Question 103331: What will happen to Dajjal's parents?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions. As far as we know, there is no mention neither in the Book of Allaah or the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) about the fate of the parents of the Dajaal. Investigating this matter will not benefit the questioner at all. However, there is a narration reported by At-Tirmithi describing his parents but it is a weak narration. One should know that Allaah is not going to punish anyone because of the sin of another person. Allaah says (which means): {And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.}[Qur'an 6:164]. Al-Qurtubi said about the interpretation of the above verse: 'It means that every person will only be accounted for what he has earned, and no soul will be held accountable for the sins of others, rather every soul will only be held accountable for its sins and punished for its sins.' I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger. Scholars unanimously agree that whoever unintentionally damages something that does not belong to him is not sinning; however, he has to compensate the owner for his loss by paying the price of the damaged item if its value can be known or by giving him a similar item if it is estimated through measurement, weight or number. It is unanimously permissible for the owner to take whatever compensation he receives whether the damaged item can be valued or measured. Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.A driver who causes damage to another driver's vehicle is obliged to repair the other driver's vehicle either by paying him directly or through insurance but he is not allowed to take more than what he initially paid the insurance. If this insurance money in not enough to repair the vehicle, then he should pay from his own pocket. However, if it is not possible to repair it through insurance for any reason, then he is obliged to pay all the repair cost from his money. He should endeavour to give this money to the owner of the vehicle, but if he is unable to reach him and he waited for a very long time until it became hopeless, then the case is dealt with as if the repair money is property which he found. In this case, he is permitted to give this money in charity while intending the reward for the person whose vehicle was damaged. If this person appears later, he [this person] has a choice either to accept the charity given on his behalf, or take his money back and the reward of the charity money will be for the person who donated it [the one who caused the damage]. Question 114440: Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu. I was not focused and did not realise what I was doing and broke the edge of a date palm tree's leaf by the roadside. If there any sin on me? What am I to do now?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger. You bear no sin for what you did while you were not focused. It is a pardoned mistake. The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said, "Allah has forgiven my nation their mistakes and forgetfulness and what they are forced to do." [Ibn Maajah and Al-Bayhaqi]However, the fact that you bear no sin for it does not mean that you are not liable for compensation if this palm tree is someone's property. The Kuwaiti Encyclopedia of Fiqh reads, "Scholars of Fiqh agreed that the compensation is due for any loss incurred on someone's wealth on account of unlawful usurping, harmful action, damage, or the like whether it is done deliberately or out of mistake or neglect."Hence, if the palm tree is owned by a person or an entity and the damaged part is significant and not normally excused, you are liable for compensating the owner with its value, but if the damaged part is insignificant and is normally excused, you are not liable for anything.Allah knows best. Question 114687: Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, Shaykh. When I went to Makkah for my last visit, I had to buy a pair of shoes; they had put pins on the bottom of the shoes that were on display, at the shop, while I was checking out the shoes, I noticed that the pin on one shoe went inside, and I tried pulling it but it did not come out, and I feel that that shoe was not suitable for sale after that, and Allaah knows bes. I am not good in Arabic, and to add to it, I had a severe throat infection to the degree that I had to talk with gestures to that shopkeeper and in order to discuss the matter with my family (who most probably are not suitable for such matters, and Allaah knows best). I left the topic, but it stayed in heart and still remains there. Before leaving KSA, at the airport, I gave an estimated amount to a cleaner there (I guess maybe the shoe's price was 60 SAR, and bargaining could have resulted in a price of 50-55 SAR, and Allaah knows best, and I gave 55 SAR to that cleaner at the airport). I had bought another pair of shoes from that shop at 50 SAR, I think, and he gave them for 40 SAR, from what I remember, and Allaah knows best. My question is: in case I am called to Allaah's House again in Makkah, should I mention this to that shopkeeper in Arabic by getting it written in Arabic on a paper and handing it over to him along with the estimated amount, or is what I did sufficient, Allaah willing? Please advice, Shaykh. May Allaah reward you.
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. If you caused damage to the shoe, then you should know that scholars held that when someone causes damage to another person's property, he is obliged to compensate the owner regardless of whether the damage is significant or insignificant or whether it was done accidentally or deliberately. The Maaliki scholar, Imaam Ibn Abi Zayd wrote:"If someone consumes another person's property or causes damage to it, then he is obliged to compensate the owner with its monetary value or the equivalent value of its like in the place where it was damaged, regardless of whether the damage is deliberate or accidental. Deliberateness and accidentalness are treated equally with regard to people's property... This ruling applies whether the person who caused the damage is an adult or not and whether he caused the damage himself directly or indirectly, according to the famous view of the scholars." [Commentary on Ar-Risaalah] Hence, you come to know that you are obliged to compensate the owner of the store if you can or seek his forgiveness and pardon. If you could not compensate him or seek his pardon, then you can offer the monetary value of the shoes in charity, and this is sufficient in terms of clearing yourself of your liability. Question 124594: I wanted to know if it is permissible, or if it is haram, or what is the conclusion, of bringing my wife to a dance club. We have done so before, without drinking alcohol or anything, and just danced with each other. The atmosphere is fun to dance with. I can guess that it is not good or lawful, but i just want to know for sure because we are thinking about going again.....Also, how lawful is smoking shisha or hookah?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger. If there are evildoings taking place in that club, such as singing, intermixing between the two sexes, and drinking alcohol, as predominantly thought in that club, then a Muslim is not permitted to go there in the first place. If he goes there, then he will witness evildoings being committed, and this is unlawful. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.}[Quran 6:68]If such things were committed in that dance club when you were there, then you must repent to Allaah and must not go there again. However, mere dancing (in seclusion) with ones wife is permissible Allaah Willing - unless there is music. Question 788: I had a discussion with some Muslims who do not seem to think that dancing at parties is at variance with Islamic teachings. Could you please give me theological basis to cite to these folks on why it is wrong. I have already told them of the prohibition of being present where alcohol is being served.
Answer: Dear Br. M. As-Salaamu Alaykum. Dancing at parties is prohibited in Islam as well as being in parties where alcohol gets served. This prohibition is based on the Hadith of prophet Muhammad (pbuh). But the prohibition of being in dancing parties goes beyond the alcohol issue, because you know very well that there are dancing clubs that don't allow alcohol or smoking. So does this make them O.K.? of course not. The prohibition of being in dancing parties involves the whole atmosphere of such parties where all kinds of indecent behavior takes place: from touching, kissing, wearing indecent clothes, listening to loud music, etc. , each one of them is enough to make dancing parties haram. Allah says in the Quran 17:32 ''And do not come near zina; indeed, it is an abomination and evil way.'' Dancing parties inherently tempt and excite people towards unapproved actions. According to the above verse we should stay away from actions that can lead to even a remote possibility of immorality. The best thing we can advise you to do is to always remind these people of their wrong behavior in a delicate way to keep the communication channel open with them. Try to invite them to a mosque activity or to a dinner where you can further discuss these and other issues. Thank you for asking and may God help you. (Source: IslamiCity)

Question 656: Assalam Alaikum Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu!!!
I have a question regarding dancing. Is dancing allowed in Islam?? Some people have told me it is not, but I know many Muslims who do participate in this activity. Since I can not find any hadith or other source of information on this topic, could you please help me? I will appreciate your help.
JAZAKHALLAH KHAIRAN!!!
Wa laikum Assalam!!
Answer: Dear Br./Sr.: As-Salaamu Alaykum. In general and considering the way dancing is most of the time performed nowadays, it is absolutely not allowed. If dancing is restricted to Children, women ALONE (when women are meeting alone), or men alone in occasional gatherings, then it is o.k.. Still, the condition for such type of dancing is that it shouldn't take time off your prayers or other acts of prescribed worship activities, and shouldn't be transformed into habits and wild acts; then it becomes Haram. And God knows best. Thank you for asking.

Question 121526: My question was my husband wants me to dance for him and wear sexy clothes when I dance in our home and I am not really comfortable doing it I want to know if it is good or bad. Please tell me because I am not doing it and he is angry.
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. A spouse can look at the other naked thus seeing one's spouse in sexy dress is legal with a greater reason since there is no Hijab or cover between them. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {They are Libas [i.e. body cover, or screen, or Sakan, (i.e. you enjoy the pleasure of living with her)], for you and you are the same for them.}[2:187]. It is also permissible for a wife to dance before her husband provided this is free from music and musical instruments, except the al-Daff (tambourine). Therefore, if a husband asks his wife to wear sexy clothes and dance, she is encouraged to do so, and she will even get reward for pleasing her husband, Insha Allah. A wife is rewarded highly for the obedience to her husband; besides that it strengthens the marital ties and increases love and affection.Allah knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Dancing is lawful only within the limits of Shariah

Question 124860: If one is a teacher at a non-Muslim school, one is it permitted for us to encourage our Muslim students to dance for school shows or they might fail.
Answer: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.Dancing could be either permissible or prohibited. It is permissible if it does not trespass the limits of moderation and does not involve unlawful things such as drinking alcohol, using musical instruments, imitating the non-believers, or taking dancing as a means of worship. On the other hand, it is prohibited if it involves any of the above.Generally, the kind of dancing taught in the schools of the non-Muslims is the prohibited one. Hence, it is unlawful for a Muslim teacher to encourage children to learn or practice it. Allah Almighty Says: Help you one another in AlBirr and AtTaqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.[5:2].Should they fail if they do not practice dancing is not an excuse for committing sin. And we would like to draw the Muslims' attention that it is unlawful to let their children enter the schools of the non-Muslims since their morals and religion will be endangered.Muslims have to cooperate among themselves to establish Islamic schools where their children may learn.Allah knows best. Dancing to music

Question 124815: I would like to know the punishment in the grave (hereafter) for dancing to music.
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Music is forbidden, this is discussed in Fatwa no 81545 and 81239.The words of Allah and the saying of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) are a sufficient threat about listening to music and instruments of amusement. A listener to such things is threatened to be severely punished in the Hereafter. However, we are not aware of any specific text or Hadith about the punishment in the grave of whoever dances while listening to music.Allah knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 124947: Is it permissible dance to songs that contain the Prophet's (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) name and other things like: "Salla Allah A'ala $Muhammad$$. Salla Allah Alaihi Wa Sallam". Songs also that includes the Names of Allah?
Answer: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. If what you mean is the dancing of men during feast or to show bravery in fighting, then this is lawful. It is reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim that Ayisha (Radiya Allahu Anha) said: "It was the day of 'Id when Negroes used to play with leather shields and spears. Either I requested Allah's Apostle or he himself asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then he let me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on, O Bani Arfida (i.e. Negroes)!" When I got tired, he asked me if that was enough. I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave" .But this should be limited to feasts and celebrations. So, it is unlawful for the person to become a professional dancer. This is the reason the scholars refute the testimony of the person who takes dancing as a profession because it (dancing) reduces the honor of the person. However, dancing during Dhikr as mentioned in your question or while performing an act of worship is strictly forbidden as it is a bad innovation brought into Islam by the dissolute and perverted people. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever beings into this faith of ours anything that is not from it, it is to be rejected" .Anyway, dancing is not lawful for men except in the above stated situations. But if what is meant is woman dancing amongst themselves, this is lawful as long as it does not lead to problems between them or temptations and provided no Haram acts accompany this dancing such as music, talking so loud that alien men can hear them, and also provided they do not expose their Awrah to one another.Allah knows best. Question 103996: What is the Sharee'ah ruling on the acts done by contemporary Sufis such as twirling, swaying the head as if the wind is blowing against a tree? Some of them insert needles or iron threads in their bodies. Is this a sort of magic?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger.Swaying heads and twirling is a religious innovation which contradicts the methodology of the righteous predecessors. The Companions used to sit calmly with the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, as if there were birds over their heads. Inserting needles and iron threads into the body is a sort of magic called the "magic of the eye". It is done by the quacks to deceive people and make them think that they have supernatural powers and that iron does not harm them.Al-Qurtubi said in his book of Tafseer (exegesis) that he asked Abu Bakr At-Tartooshi saying: What is the opinion of our scholar of Fiqh on the school on Sufism? It should be known that some men gather and remember Allaah and His Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, frequently. Then, they beat the drums with sticks. Then, some of them dance and start screaming and shaking until they faint. They bring something to eat. Is it permissible to attend their gatherings? Please advise, may Allaah reward you! Answer:May Allaah have mercy on you! The ideology of Sufism is ignorance, falsehood and deviation. The religion of Islam is nothing but the Quran and Sunnah. On the other hand, dancing, screaming and shaking were first introduced by As-Saamiri when he made a statue of calf having a lowing sound, people danced around it. So, it is the way of the disbelievers and worshippers of the calf. The stick and drum were first used by the hypocrites in order to distract the Muslims from the Quran. When the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, sat with his Companions, they used to be calm as if there were birds over their heads out of gravity. The ruler and his deputies should prevent those people from gathering at mosques and other places. It is impermissible for every person who believes in Allaah and the Last Day to attend their gathering or help them practice their falsehood. This is the opinion of Maalik, Abu Haneefah, Ash-Shaafi'i, Ahmad ibn Hanbal and other Imaams of the Muslims. Success is only from Allaah.Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Dancing: Is it permissible?
Question 4359: Is dancing permissible. If not, why?
Question 4359: Is dancing permissible. If not, why?
Answer: There is no rigid ruling concerning dancing, just like many other activities. Decent dancing which does not aim at arousing unacceptable emotions, and does not make of the women's body an object of exciting desires, and does not involve holding or pulling close to oneself a member of the opposite sex, is permissible. Many communities have folk dancing which is acceptable from the Islamic point of view. The dancers would be respectably dressed and the dance may involve elaborate movements, but it remains decent. It involves no exciting of desire to do anything forbidden. When such dances are performed by men, or when they are performed by women in presence of women audience only, these are permissible. When the delegation from Abyssinia visited the Prophet, they performed some of their folk dancing in the mosque. The Prophet watched them and he also lowered his shoulders so that Lady Aisha, his wife, could watch. Had every type of dancing been forbidden, the Prophet would not have done so. He would have made the ruling clear to all present. (Source: Arab News)

Question 109685: Does dandruff affect the validity of Ghusl (ritual bath) as it is difficult to completely get rid of it even when using shampoo?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions. What is an obligation in Ghusl is that water should reach the roots of the hair, i.e. the skin on which the hair grows, and dandruff is from that skin, so it does not affect the validity of Ghusl (ritual bath). Question 107126: Salaam Alaykum sir,1) I have a quiet complicated question here. Many a times I have warned my younger brothers from commiting sin which they see others doing and I said them that "You wil be punished more severely by ALLAH (Almighty) because I have warn you against sins but those whom you see committing sins will be not punished as rigorous like you because their guardian might not providing them with proper Islamic teachings".Now, Is it true that those who are openly sinning will be punished less than my brothers as their parents are not serious about Islam while I am continuously warning my brothers against sin?2) Secondly, I have one more problem as this issue is quiet similar to my previous question. Is it also true that a pious person will be getting alike spouse?Once I told (Not exact words but similar) my Christian friend that "In Qur'aan it is wriiten: If you are righteous you will get a righteous wife and if evil than similar will be the response". (Astaghfir ALLAH)Now, I am really fearing the sin upon me, may ALLAH (Almighty) forgive me because I am not sure about that verse in the Qur'aan dealing with this matter, so could you give me any Qur'aanic reference about this issue?Thank you sir.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. Indeed, you did well by advising your brothers, but we would like to admonish you to choose a good way in doing so, Allaah Says (what means): {Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best.}[Quran 16:125]However, it is better to combine between At-Targheeb [encouraging people to do good by mentioning Allaahs promises and rewards] and At-Tarheeb [warning people from evil by mentioning Allaahs threats and punishments] and it is acceptable to focus more on At-Tarheeb when necessary. As regards a person who is misguided despite having religious knowledge, then in general he is more sinful; Allaah Says (what means): {Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allaah has Sent him astray due to Knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allaah? Then will you not be reminded?}[Quran 45:23]According to one of the two interpretations of the verse (it means): Allaah misguided him after the knowledge has reached him and after the evidence is established against him. However, it is not unlikely that the one who disobeys Allaah out of ignorance is equal in sin to the one who disobeyed Him knowingly. For instance, a person who is able to acquire knowledge while being able to do so but he did not endeavor to acquire it, then he is not excused for his ignorance as clarified by Ibn Al-Qayyim . As regards your second question, it seems that you are referring to the verse in Chapter An-Noor in which Allaah Says (what means): {Bad statements are for bad people (or bad women for bad men) and bad people for bad statements (or bad men for bad women). Good statements are for good people (or good women for good men) and good people for good statements (or good men for good women)}[Quran 24:26]The verse is different from the meaning which you mentioned in the question. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 88697.Finally, we warn you against speaking on behalf of Allaah without knowledge as Allaah Says (what means): {And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart about all those [one] will be questioned.}[Quran 17:36]Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 118784: Assalaam alaikum, I am planning to move with my family to my parent's house for a few months to save money on rent. Alhamdulilaah my wife and I are firm in our eeman, but my mother is a Christian and does not have an understanding of tawheed and disagress with our aqidah. She prays, carries the cross, etc. We have a baby daughter, and if for example we left our daughter alone with her (like if we went shopping) and she said some Christian prayers over her or made the sign of the cross, etc., does this come under the ruling of magic or using jinn? If we don't move to their house, what about visiting them--is this permissible, as I don't know what Christian things she may do, either hidden/silently (like hidden prayers against our beliefs or requesting that we abandon our Islam, may Allaah protect us) or openly? Does this count as magic or using jinn against my family and I? wa alaikum assalaam
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His Slave and Messenger. If your mother says some prayers or gestures to your daughter with the sign of the cross, then this does not necessarily mean that it is a kind of magic or using of jinn. You should not interpret the behavior of your mother as being magic or using jinn unless this is proven. There is no doubt that leaving your daughter with her grandmother is dangerous for your daughter, as the falsehood she sees your mother doing may become imprinted in her memory and this may have bad effects on her in the future. It is for this reason that the majority of the jurists are of the view that the mother loses the child custody right if she is non-Muslim or dissolute. However, moving to reside with your mother or visiting them is permissible but one should express disapproval of the falsehood in a gentle manner as we have previously clarified in Fatwa 90759. You should express disapproval of what is apparent and you should not investigate what she hides. Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 101844: I live in the west where women mix freely with men and where their awrah is not covered. I'm a young brother studing at college. I'm scared of the damage this environment has caused to my fitrah and that I'm becoming insensitive to women. Other than just lowering my gaze and avoiding interactions, what further actions can i also take to restore my sensitivity and attitude to it's correct level and maintain it?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger. The feelings that you mentioned are the result of residing in such open societies where nothing is forbidden and people are not ashamed before Allaah, as there, there is much temptation and lust and unlimited freedom. So, a Muslim becomes accustomed to this evil and he is no longer disturbed when the limits of Allaah are transgressed. Then, he may be punished with the deterioration of his Fitrah (natural predisposition upon which Allaah created mankind)and become corrupt. Allaah says (what means): {Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].}[Quran 30:41] There is no doubt about the seriousness of the matter. The best thing we advise you to do is to supplicate Allaah, and the best supplication in this case is what the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "Allaahumma rahmataka arju falaa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfata 'ayn, wa aslih li sha'ni kullahu, laa ilaaha illaa ant (meaning: O Allaah, Your Mercy I desire; so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshipped except You)." [Ahmad] There are other guidelines which you may refer to in Fataawa 87310 and 128402. At the end of the day, if there is a choice between studying and staying in that country and between preserving ones religion by migrating to a Muslim country, then preserving ones religion takes precedence. The religion of a Muslim is his capital, and if he loses it, he loses in this world and the Hereafter, and that is the manifest loss. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 86405.Allaah Knows best. Danger of ridiculing the promise or punishment of Allaah

Question 103086: My uncle is 30-years old and my aunt is 27. They do not pray and when we advise my uncle and remind him of death, he says that this is natural and that he neither fears death nor entering Hell. As for my aunt, she neither prays nor continuously wears the Hijaab under the pretext that she is still young. Please, advise!
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. You must thank Allaah The Almighty for enabling you to comply with His Obligations and adhere to the straight path, because one of the greatest favors of Allaah is enabling His Slave to obey Him. Also, you must explain to your uncle that underestimating death and Hell is considered ridiculing the promise and punishment of Allaah, which contradicts a person's belief in them, because belief in Allaahs Promise and Punishment means glorifying and dignifying them. His statement, "he does not fear entering Hell" certainly contradicts this glorification. Many scholars stipulated that whoever ridicules the promise and punishment of Allaah The Almighty is an apostate and a non-Muslim, as stated by the Hanbali scholar Al-Buhooti . Thus, your uncle must repent to Allaah from this serious statement. He must also understand that the prayer is of great importance in Islam and whoever abandons it has no share in Islam.Besides, you must do your best to advise them and seek the help of those who may have influence on them. Also, use the booklets and tapes that explain the ruling on abandoning the prayer and that this is disbelief that takes a person out of the fold of Islam, even if one abandons the prayer out of laziness, according to the scholars. You should put all your efforts on this issue. Likewise, concentrate on the issue of the Hijab with your aunt and explain to her that a woman her age is obliged to wear the Hijab. According to the consensus of the Muslim scholars which is supported with the texts from the Quran and the Sunnah, when a Muslim woman reaches puberty she must abide by all Sharee'ah obligations, including the Hijab.Allaah Knows best. Dangers of friendship with an atheist
Question 107072: What is the Sharee'ah ruling on a Muslim having a friendship with an atheist?
Question 107072: What is the Sharee'ah ruling on a Muslim having a friendship with an atheist?
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.Having a friendship with an evil person is a great danger and a cause of harm in a Muslim's life and religion. The following are just some of the harms that can affect such a Muslim: 1- One is influenced by his companions, and this is part of human nature. This is why it is said that birds of a feather flock together. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, commanded the Muslim to carefully choose his companion, because a person usually follows his example. [Ahmad, Abu Daawood and At-Tirmithi] 2- An evil friend will renounce his companion on the Day of Judgment. In this regard, Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.}[Quran 43: 67] 3- It was reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said that on the Day of Judgment a person would be in the company of those whom he used to love in this life. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] Would a Muslim agree to be in the company of an atheist on the Day of the Judgment? 4- The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, likened an evil companion to a blacksmith who usually harms those near him, as he may either cause their clothes to get burnt or at least emit a foul odor.[Ahmad and Ibn Hibbaan] An atheist could shake the faith of the believer and cast doubt and suspicion in his heart. 5- Keeping the company of an atheist could defame a Muslim and cause him to be notorious in the eyes of other Muslims.6- In addition to the aforementioned dangers, it is the obligation of a Muslim to disassociate himself from disbelievers and atheists, and not to have affection for them. In this regard, Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {You will not find a people who believe in Allaah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allaah and His Messenger, even if they are their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred.}[Quran 58: 22] {O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them.}[Quran 9: 73] {And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire}[Quran 11: 113] Through the above discussion, it becomes clear that accompanying an atheist exposes one's religion and reputation to great risk. And Allaah Knows best. (Source: islam_web)

Question 106876: We have a non-Muslim servant and we found pictures of the children and myself along with something that looks like a goats horn in her room. What do you think of this? Is it a kind of magic? Please advise.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Before answering the question, we must first discuss the issue of having female servants in general in Muslim houses, let alone disbelieving female servants. This phenomenon often results in much corruption which reality bears witness to. This includes:
1- The oppression of children when their upbringing is left to these maids. This is the most dangerous aspect as it causes the child to lose his emotions towards his parents, especially his mother. Consequently, a child loses affection which is the basic element in directing and guiding children.
2- The existence of maids is a basic element in encouraging mothers to go out to work, markets or visits, and this contradicts the Sharee'ah goals which require that a woman stays in her home. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And stay in your houses.}[Quran 33:33]
3- Laziness and inactivity of women, which results in many illnesses.
4- Leaving maids with adolescent sons in houses results in many immoralities.
5- When the maid is a disbeliever the children are brought up on subversive creeds and ideas that contradict the Muslim creed.
Therefore, the Sharee'ah criteria for having a maid has to be followed. These criteria are as follows:
1- A maid has to be a Muslim.
2- She should be accompanied by her husband or a Mahram (unmarriageable person).
3- The Sharee'ah limitations should be observed. That is, there should be no Khalwah (isolation) or intermixing between the two sexes, nor should men have any dealings with them.
4- The children's upbringing should not be entrusted to these maids.
As for the question, it is not farfetched that this maid does whatever harms Muslims as she is a disbeliever. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors.}[Quran 9:10]
They are neither restrained by kinship nor are prevented by a covenant. So what do you think then if there is no covenant or kinship in the first place? The surrounding proofs indicate that she might have been trying to work a spell and this is indicated by the horn of the goat. You should therefore dismiss her to be relieved from her evil, but your suspicions about her should not encourage you to oppress or upset her. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.}[Quran 5:8]

Question 120113: what is the islamic point of brestfeeding, non muslims says share brestfeeding dangerous to health , why islam permit this , any medical benifit is therin share breast feeding
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger. If you mean that there is a danger in breastfeeding children other than ones own children, then this is not correct. The evidence about this is that the Shareeah approved this matter and set rulings about it; the Shareeah only approves what is beneficial for the people. However, if you mean that breastfeeding others' children may lead to the transfer of some contagious diseases which may be transmitted by the milk, then this is not specific to breastfeeding others' children. This may even happen in case of a mother with her own child if she is affected by such diseases. Moreover, some diseases are transmitted just by touching other people, so the matter is not only restricted to breastfeeding. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 85072. Allaah Knows best. Question 121855: A non-Muslim friend asked me how is it possible, in recent life, to avoid having relations with a girl before the marriage as long as there are many means to avoid pregnancy or diseases? I want to convince him the dangers of Zina.
Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and Messenger.
Zina (fornication or adultery) is a grave major sin. It is prohibited in all religions due to fatal diseases such as AIDS. It does not only bring down Allah's wrath, but also causes crimes, generates hatred among people, spoils the chastity of the person and his/her lineage and so forth. Allah, the Exalted, has imposed a great punishment on those who commit Zina in this worldly life and in the Hereafter.
Allah Says (what means): {And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.} [Quran 25: 68-70]
On the Night of Israa’ and Mi'raaj, as recorded in Saheeh Al-Bukhaari, the Prophet (saw) saw naked men and women on a building similar to a furnace, wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, and a fire kindling from the bottom. When the fire starts, they cry and come up; when it goes out, they return to their previous state. When the Prophet (saw) asked about them, the answer was: ‘They are those who committed Zina.’ They will be tortured in the same way till Resurrection.”
Allah warns us against committing Zina as He Says (what means): {And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.} [Quran 17:32]
As for the punishment of Zina in the present life, if it is proved, an unmarried person is to be lashed one hundred times, and then, the man should be exiled for one year. This should be carried out by the Muslim ruler. As regards a married person who commits Zina, he should be stoned till death.
Allah Says (what means): {The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion of Allah, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.} [Quran 24: 2]
This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above sin but if married persons commit it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah's Law.
The Prophetic Hadeeth explained the above verse stating: "One hundred lashes and one year exile for a bachelor and a married one should be stoned (to death)." [Muslim, At-Tirmithi, Ibn Maajah]
As for your friend's saying 'How can I endure?', we clearly state that whoever believes in Allah, the Final Day, the Reckoning and the punishment, Hellfire and Paradise, should have patience, fearing Allah and longing for His reward.
On the other hand, using medical condoms and so on does not change the Sharee'ah rulings for a believer. But, for a disbeliever, we are to do our best to convince him of Islam and belief since there will be no profit to convince him of the dangers of Zina as long as he is not a believer.
Therefore, dear brother, your first step is to convince him of Islam and the dangers of disbelief. Then, he – Allah willing – will automatically believe in the dangers of Zina.

Daniel as a name for Muslim boys
Question 121237: Was there a Prophet by the name of Daniel? Muslims are keeping this name for their sons. Is it a permissible Muslim name?
Question 121237: Was there a Prophet by the name of Daniel? Muslims are keeping this name for their sons. Is it a permissible Muslim name?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions. Daniel was a Prophet who was sent to the Israelites. We are not aware as to exactly when he lived but it was after the era of Prophet David (Daawood) and before Prophets, Zakariaa and Yahyaa, may Allaah exalt their mention. Since it is confirmed that he was a Prophet, then there is no harm to name a new-born child after him. The Prophet (saw) said: "Name after the names of the Prophets." [Abu Daawood]Allaah knows best. Question 4360: During a discussion, a friend of mine claimed that human beings came from apes (Darwin's theory of evolution). This led to a heated argument and a scar on our friendship. May I ask who were the first human beings on earth? Whom did they worship and who was their god?
Answer: The theory of evolution has two basic flaws. It observes in fine details the gradation of species from one-cell organisms up to the chimpanzee and man, who the theory considers to be the next in line. Advocates of the evolution theory have admitted this and sought to explain by speaking about a "missing link". The other basic flaw in this theory is that it cannot be proven in any scientifically acceptable way. Its argument is rather didactic. It makes a huge jump from scientific observation to theorization about life and existence. Thus, it imposes its theory on scientific findings. Perhaps it is appropriate to state here that Muslim scientists have observed the gradation of species, not only in the animal world but also in the world of plants. They referred to the fact that there is a very fine line which separated one species from the next. They also observed that there are two huge gaps: The one which separates the highest from the lowest, i.e. the chimpanzee from man. However, Muslim scientists did not seek to impose any arbitrary theory of life on their findings. They simply attributed this gradation to its appropriate cause, the will of Allah, the Creator of all. As Muslims, we recognize only one source for the formulation of our concepts of life and the role of man. That source is divine revelations. We know that Allah has revealed the Qur'an, His last message, through the angel Gabriel to His last messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Allah has also guaranteed that the Qur'an which contains His message, will remain intact, free from distortion, for the rest of time. Therefore, we must refer to the Qur'an for the formulation of our concepts of life and creation. We know that the knowledge contained in the Qur'an is factual, because it comes from the Creator whose knowledge is limitless and absolute. We cannot, therefore, abandon this factual source of knowledge, preferring it to a scientific theory which is liable to amendment or improvement as even its most outspoken advocates admit. On the basis of information Allah has given us in the Qur'an, we state without hesitation that human life on earth started with Adam (peace be upon him), who was created of clay and Allah breathed of His spirit into him. Therefore, man is the result of a combination of clay and spirit. He came into existence as a result of Allah's will when He decided to appoint a vice regent on earth. How did Allah breathe His spirit into Adam whom He made of clay and when did all this happen are details which He has not chosen to give us. Therefore, we need not concern ourselves with these for two reasons: First, we have no means of finding out the answers with any degree of certainty because the only source which can give us such information, namely, Allah (limitless He is in His glory) has chosen not to tell us. Second, our knowledge of such details will not be of any help to us in the fulfillment of our task which is given to us by Allah, namely, the building of human life on earth. Had such information been of benefit to us in this regard, Allah would not have withheld it. You ask about the God worshipped by the first human beings. There has always been obviously one God, Allah. Adam was a prophet who taught his children how to worship Allah alone. The Unitarian faith existed as long ago as man himself. What professors of comparative religion in Western universities assert about the development of religious beliefs is totally untrue. They claim that man started with primitive concepts of God and worshipped forces of nature and represented them with idols and totters, etc. Later, as man developed, his beliefs also developed and he started to believe in a small number of deities, who were then reduced to two before the concept of monotheism evolved. All this is contrary to what Allah tells us in the Qur'an. Allah gave Adam, the first man on earth, the message based on the Oneness of Allah. His children continued to worship Allah alone for many generations before deviation crept into their faith. Therefore, Allah sent them prophets and messengers to call on them to revert to the Unitarian faith. They made such a return at the time of Prophet Noah, when the group of believers who survived the flood with Noah , started a new social order. Other returns were achieved by other prophets in different communities. This message was given its complete and final form in the Qur'an revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah's last messenger. (Source: Arab News)
