bissmillah-hirrahman-nirrahim

All,that is in the heaven and the earth gives glory to God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, The almighty, the Wise One.

It is He that has sent forth among the GENTILES an apostle of their own to recite to them His revelation,to purify them, and to instruct them in the Book and in wisdom, though they have hitherto been in evident error, together, with others of their own kin who have not yet followed them.He is the Mighty, the wise One.

Jalillah,

I am wondering whose translation of the meaning of the Qur'an you are quoting from?  The word in 62:2 that you have as "gentiles", is in the Arabic ummiyun, which is usually translated as "unlettered people".  Ummiyun refers to a nation or community who have not previously had a revealed scripture of their own.  Gentile means non-jew.  These don't mean the same thing, which is why I am just curious.

Peace, ummziba.

Peace, ummziba.
