Salaamu Aleykum,

I pray that this email finds you in the best of health and deen.

I have a simple question. My mother has �3,000 worth of gold bangles and �5,000 in cash. I am one of 4 siblings which includes 1 sister. My mother wishes to give the gold bangles to my sister during her lifetime. Would this be allowed in Islam. I call to mind the story of a companion who wished the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) to donate a garden to one of his sons from which the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) refused.

Please note I and my brothers do not have any issues for our sister to receive the gold bangles but do not wish our mother to do something which is against Islam.
