This is my first post here, Alhamdulillah. My name is Molly, and I am well on my way to reverting to Islam.
I am a 23 year old young woman from Southern California, and I was introduced to Islam by my husband. He is a practicing Muslim from Cairo, and he has never pushed me into converting to Ilam. He even feels uncomfortable speaking to me about it because he is afraid of making me feel like he's pressuring me! 
I have casually read about Islam for the last few years, but only recently have I made a by serious and determined decision to actually convert and start praying to Allah. Well, this morning I made my first prayer, Alhamdulillah, and I feel so light on my feet, and absolutely cleansed. I even made myself a prayer outfit over the last couple of days. I haven't yet taken the shahada, and I want my husband present for that. I have told my mom of my intentions, but I haven't told my father yet because I am afraid of hurting him. I grew up in a loosely Christian household,with my father being the most religious of my parents. So anyway, hello! I'm excited to start using the forums to ease my way into Islam. |
