Ok tell me this why do the immigrants come to america??Because of the desire economic and political strain back in their home countries that was created without a doubt by America and Europe!! So in essence immigrant come to America and make it they become part of the system which is oppressing their peoples back home... The Black Panthers were not racist at all...for u to say that shows u have little knowledge of what they taught...instead u have bought into the picture of the panthers in which the US media painted of the black panthers to try to discredit the group... Dont disrespect Kwame Toure saying he didnt do anything!!!What did he do u ask??? He founded the A-APRP(All Afrikans peoples revolutionary party) and worked together with Kwame Nukruma and Sekou Toure in futhering Afrikan Revolution...He also traveled around the world lecturing and other things...King, Malcolm, Doughlass, Kwame are all brothers in the same sturggle...and Kwame Toure has had a great lasting effect on the world and his organization the A-APRP continues.... Alright u admit the educational system isnt impartial...Therefore the educational system a means of futhering white supremecy...As i said before schooling is also a socialization process in children are taught and instilled in the politcal ideology, world view, religious doctrine, norms, of soceity....and when these values go against the well being of the people the educational system becomes means of the oppressive system... So if ur "educating" someone in a way that is not benefiting themselves or their peoples but rather to benefit the oppressor...this is no education at all... Ignorrance is bliss!!!...ONCE again Kwame Toure never said anything to the effect of Go out and start killing white peoples...u should read before u make such presumptious accussations...thats just taking the easy way out...instead of actually examining and thinking on what his philosophies were u simple disregard him as a radical and racist which is far from the truth.... VIVA KWAME TOURE...MUERTE AL IMPERIALISM YANQUI

Kwame Toure may have been a moral person but he was an athiest.
I would suggest the Prophet Muhummad as be a better role model regarding the role of struggle. Escobar - when are you going to start informing us of Islam and mosques in Cuba? This would be very interesting; Kwame Toure is old news to say the least. |

http://www.purdue.edu/bcc/library/haytur.htm Very interesting article on Kwame Toure, but it has a better view of his push for Pan Africanism. DavidC, I agree. Communism is a corrupt form of government. Its destructive and far more oppressive than most people understand. The former Soviet Union and Soviet Bloc nations will be recovering for a very long time. |

Once again stop taking the easy way out...its much easier to just simply disregard the guy by labelling him a "communist" as oppossed to critically examining his philosophies and ideas... He was not a communist...he was for Afrikan socialism...since historically speaking before Europeans invaded Afrika...Afrikas economy is essense was socialistic... What does the soviet Union have to do with this?? Yes communism is destructive but history has shown that capitalism has been far more destructive...CAPITALISM is destructive and so is communism... Afrika, LAtin America, Carribean, Middle East, and Asia are all still recorvering and are still under the crushing clamp of capitalisms ugly face of colonialism, slavery, and exploitation.... communism is not a form of government either...rather its a system of distrubution & organization of labor and wealth... |

Bismillah, Quoting from Sister Angela's article from Purdue: He said that a black militant is a black person who is angry at white folks for keeping him out of their system. On the contrary, a black revolutionary is an angry black person who wants to tear down and destroy an entire system that is oppressing the people and replace it with a new system where the people can live like human beings. From reading this article, I see much more about Ture than from the others I read. Basically, he sought to reclaim black people's humanity and dignity by uniting them in one political entity called pan-Africanism, which means a united Africa for black people. He stated that black people need to develop their own organizations rather than try to fit into organizations created by people who had oppressed them. I see his path as a path to peace through self-realized, self-respect and dignity for black people. I agree with Martin Luther King that we can learn to respect each other together and create new organizations which exclude no race and show respect and honor human dignity. Yet reading this, I admire people who when they believe in something advocate it with all of their lives and souls to realize it. He wanted respect and unity for people who have been terrorized and marginalized and he stood up for that ideal. I haven't read anything about any violent demonstrations that he instigated or cooperated with. Peace |
